Didnt his brother in law have a part to play in that as well or am I misremembering that hire?
He may have expressed an opinion, idk directly. He is a much mellower guy so I kind of doubt it, but he did hand out a bunch of money at the time. He's the one ironically with some actual bball skills

Kronke was elbows deep in Alden and the bball program. I don't know why he had the influence he did (others have dished out more cash). Maybe because he was the owner of the Rams and I am mister can do business guy. He really liked the golden haired Duke hire, word was Alden and staff liked Self. Any way we wound up Quin and Kronke's son, who was not a D1 talent, wound up with a four year scholly. Then it all went south and Kronke walked away

But ask yourself why Alden was so much worse with bball than the other sports.

and Kronke was ISIS to the bball program, and he's just not a well developed human

Self would have been the right hire, but he might not have stayed long-term.

Mizzou Basketball brought me some joy last night. I saw that LSU was actually the underdog so I bet on LSU. Thanks for finally not letting me down Mizzou B-Ball.

If Self was winning here like he has at Kansas the only three jobs i could see him leaving for are Duke/UNC/Kentucky.

And probably wins a bowl game for 7. If they hire the right guy I'd like tot think it can be a quick turn-around. It won't be long before this is all better.

Our basketball team is years from being able to even make the NIT forget the NCAA.

You don't know that.

You can have just a couple real impact guys if they're mixed with competent role guys and do well.

Now that the slate is clean with the program the right coach could get a couple impact guys and do well.
