Having read the article... that was not a particularly flattering portrait of the coach. I am not sure what is going on there, but it might be time for the AD to take a look at why a usually low drama program like gymnastics is having these issues.

Really would have liked to have heard something from the coach, though I'm sure he couldn't comment much on any one particular person.

No comments from current gymnasts either?
There's two sides to each story, Gymnastics is ridiculously competitive and it's not unheard of for girls to get worse as they get older, especially into their mid 20s. Sounds like he processes out older talent that regresses to be able to bring in younger girls.
Shouldn't this reflect on the teams academic standing though?

It's a life lesson. If you aren't good enough, you get replaced.

Or if you get hurt you get replaced, or if you report a crime you get replaced. Oh and you get blocked from going to any other division 1 school (what kind of seriously fuked up rule is that).
add that to other issues (you get sexually assaulted you get replaced).
The Athletic Department should get replaced.
Would be a good life lesson for them.
