Starting to get worked up for the season already.

There is something about getting to the point where you are officially ONE month and so many days away that makes me feel like it is finally here.

Sooooooo, does anyone know when the fall camp actually starts for Mizzou? Don't know if it's been said or not. Can't wait to see how some of these positions actually shake out. Whether it's the OL or replacing some injuried players/guys who are gone. Can't wait to see how these young WR's come in and compete and who takes the reigns. Opportunities abound for these young guys and that can be a goo thing.

I'm mixed on how I feel things will play out. A part of me feels that we will be too inexperienced to compete for the East again. Then again I think Mauk and the other leaders on the team have raised the bar on their expectations.

Maybe Mauk will gel better with the new receivers. He could grow into a better leader now that he's the upper classman over his WR core. I think Hasbrough is being underrated by the media. I'm hoping other teams will over look our running game too. I'm just concerned about depth at RB. Hope RH can stay healthy and the coaches don't put too much of a load on him.

Losing Brantley hurts but I'm sure some one will step up and we'll be fine. Our secondary should be scary.

Right now I can see us getting 8 wins to (Long shot but possible) Pinkle coaching us to our 1st ever undefeated season and 3rd times a charm in the SECCG. Hey we can dream can't we?

Realistically all I want is to see Mizzou play in a bowl during January.

Clean slate!

M-I-Z!!!!!!

I live in New Mexico so it's one game a year for me unless Mizzou travels to a neighboring state.

This year it's Mizzou-USC for me.

I could see the WR's as a group being better without any one of them being as good as a Sasser or even a Hunt. While I'm a little concerned with the WR's it's hardly my biggest concern. I'm actually kind of excited to see how the competition with these young guys pans out.

Probably of a bit more concern is the backup RB spot. The good news is we're talking about the #2 and #3 RB and not #1. If Abbington makes it and lives up to billing, I see no drop off if all remain healthy. This position really could swing either way at this point. Could have a big drop off behind Hansbrough or it could still be even deeper, i.e. Abbington/Witter/Freshman as GP seems to get 1 freshman RB snaps to prep him for the next year.

Biggest concern is DLine. Kul is gonna earn his paycheck this year. Gonna be a drop off at DE. No way around that. All I hope for from them is to be middle of the pack and decent and not bottom of the pack and horrible. Losing Brantley inside is huge obviously but adding Beckner will help soften that hit. Key to me is Augusta getting in shape so he doesn't have to constantly come out of the game due to lack of conditioning. That could help soften the loss of Brantley as well.

I think the schedule really sets up favorable, though that BYU game so late in the season gives me some concern as well.

W(1-0) - SEMO - Should be a blow out. Good game to work in the WR's and develop chemistry and maybe get Printz some reps.

W(2-0) - @Arky State - See SEMO though maybe not as big of a blow out.

W(3-0) - UConn - Good 3 games to knock some rust off and build some chemistry and figure out what you have at some of the positions with question marks.

W(4-0) - @UK - Can't sleep on them, but lets us get settled into SEC mode. Roster and rotations should be settling down by this point.

W(5-0) - SC - Really don't know what to expect of SC this year, but they're breaking in a new QB and it's at home.

W(6-0) - UF - At home again and while UF is UF, I just don't see the new staff cleaning things up in year 1.

L(6-1) - @UGA - Would love to keep the pattern of each team winning on the other's field alive, but as I see it, this is probably the toughest game of the year. If MU can win this game, watch out.

W(7-1) - @Vandy - I just don't see the team letting Vandy beat them in Vandy's current state. Nice game to have following UGA as well.

BYE - GP says season are won or lost in November. His bye leading into November is about as well placed as can be to make that final push.

W(8-1) - MSU - Yes, Dak. But MSU lost a ton. Probably as much or more than any other team we play. Plus it's at home coming off of a bye week.

W(9-1) - BYU - This is that damn trap game late in the season against a somewhat competitive team. This game scares me but on paper, Mizzou should win this game.

W(10-1) - UT - Biggest key...at home. I think UT is heading in the right direction and in fact, I think this game could go a long way to determining who wins the east. Having said that, I just don't know if UT is quite there yet. They're DLine is stout but our OLine this year should match up well with that.

W(11-1) - @Arky - I just don't see this team losing to Arky this year with something on the line. Yes, Arky is improving and will be good, I'm just not sold on exactly how good quite yet.

So I really doubt we go 11-1 so where are the likely losses?

Georgia*** - 10-2, (6-2) losses to AU, Bama.
Missouri - 10-2, (6-2) losses to UGA, Arky.
Tennessee - 7-5, (4-4) losses to OU, UF, Bama, Mizzou, UGA.
Florida - 7-5, (4-4) losses to OM, Mizz, LSU, UGA.
USCe - 7-5, (3-5) losses to UGA, Mizzou, LSU, UT, UF.
Kentucky - 6-6, (2-6) losses to everyone except Vandy & MSU. Bowl game finally.
Vandy - 3-9, (0-8) lose to everyone.

***UGA wins East via the tie-breaker. (Hope I'm wrong.)

IF Mizzou takes care of biz on-the-road in Fayetteville or shall I even say Athens, then UGA is fricked again. Mizzou is a ROAD WARRIOR.

Another big IF...our passing game. IF the passing game "takes off" (matures), we'll win the East and maybe more??? The passing game will be the difference between a good season (7 or 8) or a great season (10+).

Remember, hold serve against the tenny, wait for UGA to burst into flames...and viola...East champs for a third year in-a-row.

Mizzou's 2015 TRAP game...at Kentucky. Indy was the 4th game last year. Any conference road game can be tough. KY will be improved. Tigers better be ready and not looking ahead to USCe.

I can't believe we're playing these guys in KC.

Part of me thinks the way Alden got raped by other teams with scheduling had a part in his departure.

Guy was not alpha in anyway.

Mack can alpha.

I love the thought of 11-1, but I don't have your optimism. I have 9-3. I see us losing to Georgia, Arkansas and probably split between Tenn/SC.

Everyone should take a moment to truly appreciate our 8-0 record on true road games the past two years. That is rarefied air right there.

Honestly, I'm ecstatic that we are just competitive and other teams are worried about us. (except for @ Georgia, which could easily be a 14-17 point spread come game day) A 9-3 pre-season forecast be me is unprecedented...I'm practically oozing with anticipation.

These are my two primary areas of concern as well.

The Ish Witter we saw last year is incapable of shouldering RB2 snaps, so someone has to emerge.

On defense... I think we've definitively upgraded at Defensive Coordinator and can't wait to see how Odom will generate pressure with the pieces at hand (be they LBs or DLs). And in all honestly, I'm hoping Odom is the hire that finishes elevating the program and brand into an elite tier.

I've been very satisfied with the offensive approach the last two years, even if the execution's been found wanting at times. But on defense, it's felt like success or failure has completely hinged on DL play and pressure. If Odom can elevate the LB performance, Mizzou could be a tour de force defensively.

That's probably more realistic, but I just have a hard time buying that Arky is better than Mizzou right now. It is there so there is that too. Can't get a vibe on SC this year at all. They are coming into the season quietly and that means they could be dangerous.

I think your giving UGA too much credit. While I do think they are our toughest game......

1. They tend to lose key games that they should win. Maybe it'll be our turn.

2. Mizzou are the SEC road warriors.

3. Mauk's coming our party was between the hedges so maybe he can recapture some of that magic.

UGA lost their starting QB.

UGA lost their top 2 receivers and what they return isn't a whole lot better than Mizzou. They have a senior that had an outstanding freshman year but hasn't done much since mainly due to injury. After him, they really aren't bringing back any numbers different than Mizzou.

UGA lost Gurley. But yes, they have Chubb.

He is damn good. I don't see him alone carrying UGA through the entire gauntlet of their SEC schedule.

From a Morrison article at the end of spring ball. I did not recall reading a September return for Walters. Will obviously take some time for him even after that but wasn't it Walters who is supposedly already participating in 7v7 drills or am I thinking of someone else? Tavon Ross maybe already is?

I've said all along that I like Mizzou to win 10 games this year. If y'all get a split in the Tenn/Georgia games and hold serve against the teams that you should beat this year then I think the East gets decided when Mizzou rolls into Fayetteville this year.

I like our chances against anyone this year at home, barring injuries of course. Its likely to be a close game like last season but hopefully Bert and company will have the sense to yank our QB if he gets injured this time.

I expect the WRs to do better then people fear and your rushing attack to be solid enough to get the job done. The D-line should be strong... as long as you can keep your starters on the field.

Much like Arkansas the biggest worry for Mizzou would be one or two injuries in key positions where you don't really have depth to cover. If Mizzou stays healthy they win the East if they beat the Hogs at the end of the year.

BYU is a nasty team to face deep in your schedule but even if a disaster happens and you lose the game it won't impact the race for the East.

Beat Georgia and this is a moot point mind you. The Vols aren't quite there yet and will drop a handful of games. Georgia probably loses another one or two SEC games. Beat Georgia and hold serve against the Vols and no matter what happens in Fayetteville Mizzou is heading to an East threepeat.
