Williams needs to live up to his potential.
This is the answer to "who is BO's best defensive recruit" and he's been disappointing so far.
Still time though. We need the light to come on.

We discussed this in another thread and he is talking primary reps a year ahead of schedule compared to the the guys that anchored the 2013 and 2014 lines. Harris was a RSJr as well in 2015.
Even with that in mind, he should be roasting the edge vs the tackles he has played against so far.

Williams is just a sophomore, so there’s still time to improve. The key for BO is to win this season with offense, which we knew was going to be necessary before the season. As he’s doing that continue to develop all the young players on the defense the way the staff did with Acy last season. Do that and the defense may be in a position to take a big leap forward after Lock and Hall graduate, as the offense takes a step back.
If he doesn’t win with offense this season it won’t matter as he will be fired.

Does anyone think that coaches thought Purdue was going to be bad enough they could run vanilla defense to not show anything for the Georgia game?

The defense didn’t play vanilla against Purdue.
