Kevin Peoples got Moore on the right track from a technical stand point vs the run and he was a part of the DE rotation by the end of the season because he could set the edge. His pass rush needed quite a bit of refining. Early looks to have helped him unlock a few things. cfbstats.com has him credited with 1 tackle, 3 Hurries, 0,5 sacks, and 1 PBU vs Buffalo. I think they shorted him at least one hurry and 0.5 a sack. Sure its Buffalo, but its the small things he was doing to let his athleticism advantage work. His pad level, bend, and hand technique are far more consistent and he was able to overwhelm the OT no matter what edge he played on. He also did a good job of controlling the depth of his pass rush, forcing the QB back inside for Walker and McClellan to make plays.

If Early can get that kind of play out of Moore and Lang keeps flashing, the staff is going to have a lot of flexibility heading into SEC play.

I've been impressed with Moore. His explosiveness on the pass rush was lacking last year, but he's stepping his game up so far this year.

As for Lang, he's from my neck of the woods so I am familiar with him. He's a great kid and looks like he's got a bright future. Losing Smith was a heartbreaker, but so far it doesn't look like it's having a drastic impact on our depth there.

Lang's offseason is work is obvious and he has a good first step.

If Smith was playing well enough to push Moore down the two deep, it's a real shame he got injured.
