I said before the season that 10 wins was realistic. They came close but fell short. At the time, I thought .500 next year would be realistic. Now, with J3 (and who knows who else) leaving and the current state of recruiting, I'm thinking 10 wins is the more realistic goal again next year.

I think the measurement will be:
Do they soundly beat lesser teams will be 7-8 of those. Didn't do that this year lost to 1 and squeaked by the rest.
Can they close against lower level Power5 teams, went about 1 in 7 this year.
Be competitive against upper level teams. Can't have as many 20+ point losses.
If Mizzou does that we probably get 12-14 wins and KA comes back for year 3.

Is Teki gone or do they just have website issues? I was going through the stats, when I click on J3, I get the page not found. I click on Clark, his page pulls up. I click on Rosburg, get his. I click on Teki and it says page not found just like J3.

Meh. It's probably their website. I get to his personal page just fine clicking on his name from the roster.

If Alden was here maybe but with a new guy here I think he may have to get to the NIT next season or he is gone.

yea it's possible.
Would probably come down to how you get to the 12-14 wins. The other points are more than likely more important than the specific number of wins.

Unless the team absolutely tanks...again...which is entirely possible. He'll get a 3rd year IMO

Boy I don't see any way he stays another year if he doesn't get us to post season next year. I think we could be worst next year. If he gets us to the NIT then he should by all means get another year but right now I don't see it. Do we know our non-con next year? I believe we are in KC tourney with KSU.

Arizona, NCSTATE, Xavier, 2 P5 games in KC, Illinois, then probably a SEC-B12 challenge game.
The rest should be gimmes.

I also think that if the freshmen return, they make big improvements and Mizzou wins Mir even without J3.

Well we thought UMKC, Elon, and SEMO were gimmes last year and we were lucky to go 2-1 against that group. Could have lost all three. That schedule looks pretty damn tough. Maybe tougher than this years. And almost anyone we get in the Big XII challenge will be tough. Any ideas who it will be? THat does not look like a schedule that will help KA keep his job.

I don't see us going .500 but if we were to go 9-9 and lose to UA, NCSU, Illinois, Xavier and the two in KC whick is very possible there is 15 losses with us going .500 in the league which we won't. That won't save KA's job.

What we know so far about the non-con is:

@Arizona (which is tougher than Arizona on neutral
@Xavier (which is tougher than Xavier at home)
Illinois = Illinois
NC State >= OSU
Big 12 matchup <> @OU (we don't know who we play yet)
2 of UNC/KSU/Northwestern (big trouble if we draw UNC and KSU)

So that's actually 7 losses. I would assume the rest of the non-con will be made up of low to mid major D1 teams and if we're lucky a D2 team again. Probably count on losing at least out of the remaining non-con I think is realistic. So that's 8 losses I'm pretty confident about before we start conference play.

If he goes 9-9 in conference, that will buy him another year because it means 2 things. They played better to finish the season than they did to start the season. It means they beat some quality teams. It also means that he has somewhere in the ballpark of 14 to 16 wins, which I think would buy him another year.

Do we know the basketball rotation for conference games? I thought I had seen that somewhere before.

The noncon will be interesting. Arizona may lose their entire starting lineup to the NBA.
But still it's a loss.
I agree that Mizzou probably loses to all the P5 teams.
Exception could be in the SEC/B12 challenge may get a team like Tech or TCU, which is winnable.
Xavier is led by 2-3 seniors, probably not as good as this team.
Almost No way Mizzou loses to a mid/low major team & finishes .500 in conference play.

Not surprised. Telling ya, he thought everyone would follow Fulford. Unfortunately for him, everyone else got to see the product before they commit. He probably made a mistake getting talked into reclassifying.

Well, that would really suck.

What a dumpster fire.

How long will Fulford stick around if we continue to suck? That might be the next question

If you really want to get depressed, there's a rumor out there that Fulford had Kapita ready to commit and KA declined to take him.

That's pretty hard to believe unless Kapita has some very serious character issues.
