Leaving aside the BLM fiasco, which I think most coaches would do since it seems to have run its course, you have to look at Mizzou as relates to it being a football power.
The state of Missouri generates a respectable amount of football talent, though a coach will need to hit outside states to shore up positions. There will be no great shortage of funds because the SEC will continue to drive dump trucks filled with cash to the doorstep. The fans have continued to support the program through the good years and the bad. Finally you've got as good of a shot at the playoffs coming out of the SEC East as any other P5 conference.
I don't know if you get a "big time" coach, but a smart coach would be very tempted by what Mizzou brings to the table. We already know its possible to win, and win big, at Missouri.

I tend to only troll y'all during game week, and then only on the Rant. Living in NW Arkansas I am no stranger to SW Missouri after all.
Mizzou fans were gracious enough to let me post on this forum and I mind my manners on here.

Arksulli is good people. I've always like him.

This Arkansas poster has more sense than most Mizzou fans.
All of his points are spot on. Mizzou is 1 SECCG win/CFP appearance from breaking out.

If I am a big time coach, and I am on EA Sports College football, I look at the whole situation.
GP knew this was his last year. He did not tell anyone. He decided that the season was a loss and he supported his team when they went on strike.
GP gave up he was done.
As a big time coach I am not giving up so I will not let something like that or anything else short of people dying would I care what the student body does.
If I am a coach who can do more with less I go to Missouri. If I am a coach who has to have top 20 recruiting classes then Missouri is not for me.

The right recruiter can get a top 20-25 class at Mizzou. It wouldn't be that difficult honestly, Pinkel did it and he's not a great recruiter.

Do you all think Mizzou will hire a big time coach?
Please don't include Odom as a big time coach when he hasn't had one day of head coaching experience...

I think if it was Odom we would know by now. There is something else going on. I think the whole Denver trip was a smoke screen. I think Rhoades already has his guy and he's waiting for this weekend to play out.
Can you imagine if Rhoades just sat in Columbia all week and didn't interview people, the fan base would be going hysterical.
He didn't interview one guy with a legitimate shot at getting the Mizzou job, not one.
Rhoades is going to make a splash hire here, an OFFENSIVE guy with a HC background.
Odom does not fit in what Rhoades wants, who would he hire as an OC? This team would be just as terrible next year.

Yes, in relative terms. Rhoades is a pro. I don't expect a Saban level hire. Rhoades is hiring for the next level.
Rhoades is the gift from Loftin that will keep giving.
