Yea. There are some issues for sure and with our offense also not ... producing like they can, has not helped them. Hopefully the UMASS game was what the doctor ordered and they can buckle it in for the second half of this season.

Based solely off the A&M game I have major concerns about all of the remaining away games.

The group seemed shook by the atmosphere.

I predicted 8-4 in the preseason thread and I won’t deviate now. I think we finish 3-3 in this slate.

Offense came out and essentially scored on the first 2 drives but the refs robbed them of both. Both extremely suspicious calls, I hope we submitted those for review to the conference. Not to mention A&M player shoved a ref which is normally an auto ejection and they didn't even flag him.

I do think those calls made a huge difference in the game and caused them to lose confidence and collapse. I don't think they were rattled by the environment at the start, but obviously they need to show more resilience and can't let some terrible calls lead to a blowout loss

Those calls were huge.....but they didn't cause the defense to look completely unprepared. I was pretty confident in what Chuck Hicks and Newson showed the last 6 games of the 2023 season. None of what Baker did with Hicks in particular, relied on him moving laterally with a running back. It was downhill play to the gap and making the fill/play or spilling to Newson or Charleston. What Batoon is doing has slowed the defense down. The block destruction up front has to get better and I think it starts by changing the LB philosophy.
