Mizzou football is still recovering from the 2015 protest. You can believe it or not, but it's true. Have things improved? Yeah, I think the program is slowly but surely starting to look up. I do think we could do better with a different coach still, but that's a conversation for another time and not the point of this thread.

Here's the deal. The bowl ban is one thing but it's the recruiting restrictions and scholarship reductions that are absolute killers. Sterk immediately took action to fight this but that's because we don't have a choice! If we can't get the NCAA to back down on this or at least reduce the severity of the punishment when we're already trying to recover from 2015, we're fricked. There's no "well, maybe this and that" ...no. I don't want to hear it.

THE FOOTBALL PROGRAM

IS

frickED

The end

I love reading your posts friend. You always cut right to the chase .

I think however, there will be some mitigation in this instance. Lets hope so anyway :)

The only reason the protest thing is any kind of an issue is because a small segment of the fans refuse to let it die and continue to bring it up. The program is hurting because it's been mediocre at best ever since. Not because of some misguided kids making a bad decision.

The bowl ban is no big deal IMO. My guess is Bryant would skip it anyways. I agree about the recruiting restrictions and that they will make Odom's job tougher in the long haul. I suppose that's natural. That's why it's a punishment.

Thank you! I am so sick of the "I need to feel superior" crowd, who keeps blaming a 5 day, media fed protest.

I don't understand the fine. The NCAA gets to line it's pockets without outside, impartial review? Isn't that a conflict?

We were not going to win the East or go to a New Years Day Bowl so the punishment is not that bad. The problem is the punishment does not fit the crime. NCAA answers to no one. Change that or realign and close down the NCAA!!

Unfortunately with this schedule we would lose 2 games we should not and not win a game that we should not win

Win the east is unlikely

NY6 is possible, although I'm with Reedus, with a ban I think we go at least 10-2

The recruiting restrictions are a bigger deal
