Way to much being made of Matter's twee

It's not about Matters tweet really, it is a little. I am upset that Matter would do that.. But the comment you quoted is my frustration with the staff not communicating to the recruits. Not Matters tweet. Matter has nothing to do with our staff's lack of communication to these kids.

Well, I thinks it's becoming obvious where the real problem lies.

I'm not going to act like I really know what's going on, but from the outside looking in, it looks like GP has either lost control or quit caring about the direction of things. I can see why recruits would be concerned, especially if they aren't hearing anything from the leader.

Whatever, if this is GP's way of "getting back" at everyone for demanding some changes, then he'll get what's coming to him in the end. This really was an opportunity for him to right the ship, and so far I'm not impressed.

If kids are asking one of our journalists what is going on with the staff, something is being handled poorly.

These kids should be updated on what is going on.. they shouldn't have to reach out to Dave Matter to ask if their position coach is leaving.

Gabe has said that the staff has been talking to the recruits throughout the process. The recruits just dont know whats going on with the coaching changes because no one knows for sure whats going on with he coaching changes. When a decision is made then they can tell the recruits.

Matter knows this thats why his tweet was a shitty thing to do and all it did was cause folks to misinterpret things and get bent.

GP is not playing the sabotage card, that's ridiculous. He may not be doing things properly, but it's not deliberate to screw things up.

Dude, no one knows if he is leaving or not. Not even Henson by his own mouth tonight per Gabe D.

If they've been talking to the recruits through the process then why are they reaching out to a beat writer for info... obviously there isn't a lot of communication going on...

We're on such different pages..

It's not about telling them if Henson is leaving or not, obviously that is unknown. It's about keeping a line of communication going with them so they're not in the dark. Obviously they're in the dark if they're reaching out to writers. If you communicated to the kids that Henson is still deciding and that they're still deciding on an OC, then they wouldn't be reaching out to Matter.

If there is nothing to tell them one way or another what on earth do you want them to say?

Maybe they are asking Matter because they think he might know something? If there was a decision and they were hiding it from the recruits thats one thing but if there isnt a decision there just isnt anything to tell them.

Do you have proof that the staff hasnt been keeping the recruits informed outside Matters tweet?

They know Henson is still deciding. Henson told his recruits he is still deciding.

No man, I don't have proof. I just know what anyone else would know. Matter said these kids are in the dark. They're confused about what is going on. If our staff was communicating properly, then I'd guess none of them would be reaching out to Matter. They would know that they're all still making decisions.

I'm not saying he's sabotaging things. It just seems that he's sitting back and letting thing unfold, to outside eye it looks like a mess. I'm sure he's being somewhat proactive on the inside.

I don't thing he's being deliberate about it, I really think that's the way he thinks it should be played, and I think it's the wrong way to go about things.

I just told you that the staff has been keeping the recruits updated via Gabe D. Reported through Pete Scantlebury who talked with some of the recruits on the phone who said they had talked to the staff and that they expect a decision soon regarding Henson.

Maybe some kid was fishing Matter trying to see if he knew something the staff wasnt letting on yet? I dont know but I wouldnt put much stock in waht Matter tweeted because the info coming straight form the horses mouths completely contradicts what he is trying to imply with his tweet.

If that's the case, then Matter is a joke.

Yea, folks are kind of miffed as to why Matter made that tweet. I like Matter and that just seems atypical of him. I dont doubt that a recruit might have been asking him for info thinking he might have some insight to offer but to imply that there is no contact and the kids are in the dark was way off base.

I thought that is what Pinkel was doing during the in house visit with Printz while in Atl. Keeping a line of communication & keeping him informed. One would have to think he is not the only recruit he is keeping updated. Just a guess

The people that deserve blame is KOMU for running with a report that wasn't true..... AGAIN.

The recruits thought they were out of the loop but they really weren't .

We have probably already lot Andy Bauer to Alabama, but we can't afford to lose out on Clay Rhodes. Sounds like this is coming down to Hill or Henson for OC, and whichever one doesn't get the job is likely to leave. What a cluster-frick.

I know how you feel. But they have to recruit him like he's still comming here. Henson has been the guy recruiting Bauer. If Henson leaves, then Andy may go or he may not. There is enough time between now and when he signs next season for a new guy to get to know him. He may like another recruiter better, who knows?

But the number one objective here is to get the best OC available. Whether recruits decommit or not. You can't hire at a position like this based on what commits are going to do, it has to be what fits Pinkel's program.
