OMG OMG OMG

I am so excited right now.

I cannot wait to see Miller in goal for the Blues

We also get OTT and give up Stewart and a couple picks

I have no idea who any of these guys are, but if you're happy, I'm happy.

Blues basically gave up a let down goalie who we were paying a decent amount for and a first round pick that hasn't ever met expectations along with some picks for a top 5 (possibly top 3) goalie and a enforcer type player that the blues were missing as they are pansies.

Great move for an already very good team.

Miller > Halak
Ott > Stewart

But had to give up a prospect, a 1st round pick and a 2nd or 3rd (can't remember) round pick.

3rd, more just came out though, if we make the Western Conference Finals or resign Miller that turns into next years 1st

Ruh-Roh type moment, but those will be high picks 25-30 ish still sucks 2 years in a row to lose the first

If we make the WCF though guess that makes the decision to try an re-sign Miller a lot easier for the blues.

Game tonight was a letdown after the trade though.

We are 1-10-1 against contenders from the West

Getting Miller is big.

If they want to be serious about making a run they had to fix the goaltending situation.

But I don't love the Stewart - Ott swap.

Ott will be a positive impact, good guy to have in a best of 7 series, he definitely should be a positive player.

Stewart can do the same type of things Ott can do, bring a hard forecheck, drop the gloves when he needs to, play physical game, but he's got more skill and ability to contribute on offense. Everyone hates Stewart because they think he should be some big time point producer, but really he's a .5 point a game 3rd line semi two way type guy.

I think if the Blues win the cup you let Miller walk, keep the draft pick and turn to Allen and Elliot next year.

If they win the cup the draft pick is gone anyways.

It's if we get to Western Conference Finals or if we resign Miller

So they basically gave up a bag of balls and a 1st for two impact players.

Nice trade for St. Louiee.

Ott isn't as good as Stewart, but he may be better at being a 3rd liner. Stewart is still trying to figure out his identity, and it has frustrated StL fans.

I think making 'all in' moves only make sense if it completes your team, and the Blues still are not complete. They don't have one elite forward. No dynamic threat on offense. Most contenders have at least two.

Think we could have got Miller by giving up less. They had to dump him, yet they were able to win the leverage battle in negotiations and that's a shame.

Cup or bust. Hope they get it done.

I think giving up the first rounder was a bit much. Over the past 5 years, both goalies have been pretty even
Halak: 109-60-25, 2.27 GAA, .918%, 25 SO in 204 games
Miller: 140-100-16, 2.53 GAA, .920%, 16 SO in 278 games.

Plus, Halak is 5 years younger. Hopefully the trade works. I've always kind of liked the Blues, don't know why.

It's definitely a trade with the goal being this year, not the future, but you can only read so much into those numbers. Miller's team is absolutely atrocious in front of him.
