Reedus, if the reports are true, we would be better off to name Fuller right away and try to keep our recruiting class intact.

Here's the latest Mellinger article on Haith. Pretty fair, IMO.

Yes, good and fair article. Nice share.

A shame that blood is already in the water unjustly.

Ain't that the truth. What good does it do to have this stuff leaked like this. Serves no purpose.

Unless the purpose is to mess with Mizzou. Pretty lame that a ku grad has been pressing this issue and leading the investigation (at least that's what I've heard).

Yeah, I heard the same. That's complete BS.

I can see a couple of possible reasons for a leak though. They could be trying to smear Mizzou - though we aren't involved or being investigated. They could be trying, as Mellinger alluded, to sway public opinion and, more importantly media opinion, to prop up their case - since they apparently admit they can't prove Haith did or knew anything.

Or, I also think it's possible they could be trying to use this as leverage to get Haith to tell everything he knows. If nothing else, the Cam Newton saga proved that the NCAA is really pretty toothless. They have no subpoena power, so their investigations depend on who they can get to talk to them and be completely forthcoming. In the Cam case, they knew evidence existed. But all of a sudden, everyone that had evidence and knew the truth decided to keep their info to themselves and the NCAA couldn't force them to cooperate. If, in this case, they believe Haith has more information on the Miami athletic department than he's shared - maybe enough to justify a lack of institutional control allegation - this may be their way of trying to force cooperation.

I have no idea, it's all complete speculation on my part. I just think that scenario could make sense as to why they'd leak something of this nature.

I think you're right in all your speculation semo. I just think those are all illegitimate reasons to leak anything. I don't know if those reasons would subject any decision made by the NCAA to review but it should.

It's these types of investigations that open up the chances for lawsuits against the NCAA like whats happenning around Penn St.

To come out and accuse someone of wrong doing no substancial proof is dangerous for the person leaking the info as well as the accuser.
