Not surprising, but sounds official.

Also in link, Duron Singleton had 7 tackles filling in for Simon at UK. And as reported elsewhere, LWash has a toe injury.

Meant to mention Singleton the other day when talking about DGB. Thought he was solid and made some plays.
The Missouri fan in me waiting to get kicked in the nuts says I'm not feeling so great about Franklin coming back without having truly worked some of the kinks out. Handing the ball off hardly counts but even that looked awkward though I wrote that up to the fact it was the scrubs in the game at the time. Assuming he's 100% or you wouldn't put him in, why not let him throw it a few times to make sure the timing with receivers is there. Instead, we get this quote which makes no sense to me. If anyone can explain, I'm all ears.
You didn't want him to throw because he's healthy and throwing great? Huh? So if he was throwing bad in practice he would have thrown in the game?

As the commentators pointed out, he was also behind the backup o-line. So throwing would have been taking a chance at best. Handing off was fine by me. Even just being out on the field and taking live snaps helps.
I'm comfortable with Franklin comming back. I think he'll light it up. As ST has mentioned, at 230 lbs. He adds another demention to the offense that Mauk at this point doesn't have. Thats running with authority. James is a load to bring down. So there is that. Mauk needs to put on some more weight. He's a good runner, but lacks the size right now.

It's not that they didn't want him to throw, as much as they didn't want him to get hit. He could have played, if needed. But if you want him ready and 100% for our last 2 games, why risk him getting hit in a game where he's not needed?
They let him take snaps to get back in the rhythm, and they're satisfied with his progress in practice. So they didn't have him throw in the game.

I hear y'all and got no argument against any of it. I think it's just me looking for where that kick in the nuts will come from. I just hope his timing with the receivers is there from the get go. Taking even a half against OM to get the timing back might be too late.

Good news is that he has two weeks to work out kinks.
I just hope the guys don't go crazy off field and get into some trouble that would give us the gut punch.

No one would do that with the kind of year were having. I think Pinkel and his staff have their guys dedicated and disciplined this year.
