He had one good pass in the first half to DGB for the TD and I give him credit for hitting him about in stride. Beyond that, not much. No production beyond that. 13 yds and punt. 40 yds and punt. 4 yds and punt. 20 yds and punt.
Second half I thought he did slightly better. 60 yds and Int. 3 yds and punt. 49 and TOD. 14 yds and punt. 43 yds and TD. 6 yds and punt. 7 yds and punt. 10 yds and end of game, so I won't hold that one against him.
In the second half, at least he had drives of 60, 43 and 49 yds, but this offense was still stagnant under Franklin. I might be willing to agree that the second half was an improved showing, but his improved showing was still mediocre at best. Unfortunately, he may be the best we have right now.

I agree Natural. As someone that felt Berk should be our starting QB, I saw some promise with Franklin yesterday. He seemed to scan the field better, gave himself more time before bailing, and then was pretty decisive and deliberate with his decision making.
Was it a beautiful thing to watch? No, but he was much more effective when he gives himself a chance to succeed. For now, Tank should stay as the starting QB, but if he starts stinking it up again, the coaching staff better know when they need to pull him.

Semo, I agree with some of your comment. I agree that Franklin gives us our best chance to win when he's healthy. We all know he is not. Pinkel has to decide if he wants to muttle through this season on the back of a hurt QB with the likes of Bama comming on the horizon.
Yes Berk is probably more inclined to be a pocket passer, but he has talents or advantages over Franklin. His size is the biggest. The kid can run the ball, but he's more a north south runner. He also is a punishing runner. Your goal line formations and 4th and ones are more attainable with Berk over a hurt Franklin right now. I don't think his supposed lack of mobilty would get him killed. Franklin was mobile against Georgia and he still got hurt. Berk is more durable in my opinon from his shear size advantage over Franklin. Who says he's less mobile anyways? He's only started one game and one quarter.
I've said before, they should set Franklin till he gets healthy. As long as he keeps taking hits, he's not going to be near 100%. Defenses knows he's hurting, and thats not good cause they will make a point of comming after him even more than they would have if he wasn't. Hit's from tacklers will be more pronounced due to this. Pinkel would better serve Franklin by setting him and letting him heal so that he can be the QB we've come to like and respect for his gameplay.
Look at what Spurrier did with Shaw. He let him set to heal. What did Shaw do his first game back? He played a game all Mizzou fans want to forget.

I don't want to sound like I'm choosing Berk over Franklin. I still want to see Franklin play, but I want him to play somewhere close to 100%. Thats his zone. Thats when he's truly dangerous for defenses.
Berk will be a good QB as will Mauk. But for now this is Franklins team.
It's up to Pinkel in my opinion to do the right thing and rest Franklin. This has got to be a choice Pinkel makes not Franklin. This will save face with team mates and the media.

Hey, I never make sense to anyone including myself...so congrats! You're on a roll. And I agree with you.

IMO Franklin is our starter, but if opportunity is available they will put Berkstresser in earlier (in the 4th) than normal because they know he can move the ball. If we are up enough on Vandy I think we will see Berk.

Forget QB debate........ what the fruck are you doing with an Oregon logo by your name?
I know you're a frustrated fan, but don't desert us in our hour of need!

Oh, don't worry about me. The Oregon logo is to piss off a specific Ole Miss poster who doesn't know when he's being trolled.
You be you...let me be me.
