Speak for yourself.

Every fricking post I make is an echo of Faulkner, Homer, Augustine, Dante and Hawthorne.

Obviously, that makes my posts classic epic poetry.

If you string them all together, they compare with the likes of Beowulf and Homer's Odyssey.

Unfortunately, there are the lost works, which have to be unearthed to complete the whole story.

Speaking of which, I have a Ukrainian friend that imported a Ukrainian chick to marry. She hates Vegas (almost everyone who lives here does) and assumes all of America is like Las Vegas. I said, go to Chicago or New York and show her some of the greatest parts of America.

They just went and she's now in love with America. I'd hate to see the situation if he imported a broad to live in Farmington, MO with him. It would be a nightmare.

Over the winter I was taking my kids to a McDonald's Playland to work off steam and this obvious Mail Order Bride from Russia / Ukraine would bring her son - and I swear, she never smiled. Never, like she's miserable as hell living in Backwater, Missouri. But she looks like a dishwater blonde version of Debbie Harry, all pouty and hot, driving me crazy with her high cheek bones. Smile just once. Please!! lol

You know what fricks me up about Mad Men?

Were these people lightweights or heavyweights when it comes to drinking?

Dudes get fricked up, but you only see them drink once.

Ole Joan gets messed up after Peter Campbell gives her a drink in the meeting with the banker when they're going public. Did she pregame?

It seems like they drink a lot, which is admirable, but do we just assume they drink a lot, or do they really drink a lot?

Heavy drinker like we assume Don is doesn't puke at a friend's mother's wake. He excuses himself and pukes in the begonias in the front yard.

So, are these guys rally drunks to be respected, or is it all a ruse?

All I know is Roger Sterling's the king. Drinks, smokes, banged Joan, no real responsibilities. Living the dream.

Okay, so this is the place to ask this question. It was also asked on the Shack, but that is what it is.

I accept an offer to pick my local friend up at the airport at midnight tonight.

Dude's flight arrives at 12:07 and McCarran is a big arse airport, this isn't KCI or something. The bags take a while to get to the people. I text him to see when I should be there, no response.

I see that Jetblue's flights are delayed today and I ask the following question: At what point to I leave a buddy at the airport that lives in Las Vegas and is taking me friendship into account when asking for a ride at the airport? If this dude that has committed me for 12:00 shows up at 12:30 and needs an additional 20 minutes to get his bag am I an a-hole for leaving absent any other communication?

No. You pre-arrange that he calls you as soon as he touches down / picks up his bags / whatever gives you a reasonable amount of time to drive from your location to the drop-off / pick-up area in front of the airport - making sure he's going to be waiting there for you. You shouldn't have to leave your car or pay parking.

You're doing him the favor and inconveniencing yourself, so if he doesn't agree let him take a cab.

I'm Mark Twain reincarnated. He actually told me so in a vision just after I won a jumping frog contest.

I hate the stereotypical Vegas. The strip bores me to death. Casinos aren't my thing. However, I love big shows like Cirque, so that's why I go.

Now I just want to fly into Vegas to use it as a departure point for places like Hoover Dam and adventure excursions outside the city.

I specifically want to go back to visit the Nevada National Security Site, the place north of Vegas where the government tested atomic weapons. You cannot just walk in for a casual tour. You must submit your name and information months in advance. They run a full background check on you and then decide whether or not to approve your tour.

I've always wanted to do this...as well as drive to Pahrump and attempt to meet Art Bell for coffee at a dusty diner.

Those are my ideas on how to do Vegas right.

I haven't been to church in years.

I don't have an ounce of guilt about it.

But then, I'm a heathen.
