Okay, so this is the place to ask this question. It was also asked on the Shack, but that is what it is.
I accept an offer to pick my local friend up at the airport at midnight tonight.
Dude's flight arrives at 12:07 and McCarran is a big arse airport, this isn't KCI or something. The bags take a while to get to the people. I text him to see when I should be there, no response.
I see that Jetblue's flights are delayed today and I ask the following question: At what point to I leave a buddy at the airport that lives in Las Vegas and is taking me friendship into account when asking for a ride at the airport? If this dude that has committed me for 12:00 shows up at 12:30 and needs an additional 20 minutes to get his bag am I an a-hole for leaving absent any other communication?

Well in this situation I would say possibly, only reason I say this is that its more the airport and the delay then the friends fault. Has he since txt you back.if not i would leave though lol.

Dude said midnight. The flight he's probably on doesn't even arrive until 12:08, so that's a dick move right there.

Yeah i would up till 12:30 or so but after that im out. Airports suck man there always frickn nightmares.

I usually arrive 20 mins or so after the planes scheduled arrival.
That gives the person enough time to get their shite, and keeps me from wasting my time. Now, if I notice the flight is delayed, I plan accordingly.
I wouldn't leave a friend hanging. Maybe his cell died, etc.
However, for a midnight flight, I'd probably lie and say I had to work and couldn't pick them up.

I texted dude today and he said midnight.
I'll be there at midnight like he said, but I know his flight arrives at 12:08 and he wont be ready until 12:40. I plan on parlaying the 40 minutes in to free drinks.
ETA: the really fricked up thing is the flight was scheduled for 12:21.

I never ask friends to pick me up from the airport. It's why I still have a few friends.
