And if they don't? Is there some sort of punishment that can be dished out to poor admin'ing?

The last person to spank Semo was my mom when I was a little kid. Sorry.

You are a big sports fan. You know full well all streaks come to an end.

They do. But spankings aren't a sport in my book.

Just to update everyone, Chicken has added the 5 posters mentioned in these threads (Sultan of Swine, Stonehog, UltimateHog, TReyWi and WARTIGER2004) as well as admins from other team pages, some of whom already had access here. In the future, if anyone requests access to our board, we will vote; I propose a 2/3 vote is needed for admission.
I expect we will see these new posters join in a conversation occasionally, and foresee no problems. If there is one, please RA in case I miss it.
Happy Friday, everyone!

Also, if there are any of you you who would like access to another board (reedus, I believe I saw that you and Stripes would like Arkansas board access) - you can start a help board thread. Or, let me know and I'll find out of those boards have admins that you could ask, since sometimes I realize those help board threads take a long time.
SLC, Cheshire Hog and DCRaiseHerBack are the Arkansas board admins, and all of them now have access here. Cheshire and SLC stop by occasionally. I also now have access to the Arkansas board (thank you!!).

Yeah, from lurking, they seem pretty locked down. We'll see.

Oh, and I should have added, the Alabama board admins, who now have access here as well, are AlaHunter, Tuck and FleshEatingSalsa.

I realize this has been discussed before, but as we're coming up on football season, I thought we should revisit the topic. i would like to see this board become more active, and have more people engaging in discussion. It seems as though most of us seem to agree with adding posters from other fanbases as long as they behave and don't troll over here. If they want to participate in legitimate discussion about Mizzou, we seem to approve. Am I reading this correctly? Obviously, we will refuse posters who like to troll and flame away. And if they misbehave here, we will boot them. Right now I have two requests.
So are you allowed to open it up to ALL fans? Didn't know how team message board works. I know any fan can post on Tiger Rant. At first I didn't want Porker Face and Roger but I doubt if they'd come here trolling.
Also think opening it up will make it more active, fans of other teams can ask questions about Mizzou in regards to going to COMO, etc instead of going on the SEC rant to ask general questions.

No, the team boards are locked down to fans of that team, unless access is granted to other specific posters. We have had some requests from other fans to be allowed to post on our board, and some of these have been granted. I don't see us opening the boards up though - that's what the rant is for. The team boards are meant for more legit discussion without trolls and flamers.
So, if someone requests access we'll discuss whether we want to admit that specific poster. Or not. I will be opposed to posters who are regular trolls, and if I don't know them I'l check their post history. I think we need to walk the fine line between allowing other posters to generate discussion and an active board, and keeping out the stuff we don't want here.

Ok that is reasonable. Wow I was looking at some of the other boards, this board is active considering Mizzou is a new SEC team. Some of the old school SEC teams boards are slow. On the first page you can see posts from March-June depending on the team.

Welcome, WARTIGER!! Glad to have you!
And Bayou, these team boards are fairly new. Some are more active than others. I'm hoping this one will grow.

It's neat being able to discuss things about Mizzou without the flames, yankee comments, etc. Also like other sports discussion with the pro teams in our state.

The thing about Missouri and pro sports is the tradition - especially with the Cardinals and the Chiefs. I'm a 4th generation (at least!) Cards fan. My MaMa, who lived in NE Arkansas, never missed a game - TV or radio if it wasn't televised. She got the bug from her dad and brothers. PaPa was a fan too, but not as much as MaMa. My mom never misses a game, and my dad didn't either. He passed away last May - after watching a Cards game. My mom keeps her own stats. I grew up with stories about all the Cardinal greats, and how my parents went to see games at the old Sportsman's Park when they were young. Fall was a challenge for my parents once college football started - getting a TV with PIP helped.
You'll find stories like this everywhere, and it's the same with Chiefs fans. The Chiefs tailgating tradition is a great one.
The downside for Mizzou fans is that there's a LOT of competition for fan attention and dollars.

It amazes me how the Cards can have this GREAT organization/fan base while the Royals continue to struggle

The Cards are an older team than the Royals. The Cardinals have been in St. Louis since 1892. And they have a great winning tradition. Plus, having the team owned by AB for so many years pumped a ton of money and marketing into it. The Royals just don't have that tradition, unfortunately.
