At last count he had 14 tackles 2 TFLs.

Solid day at the office. He isn't great in coverage but he gets down hill like Andy Wilson.

How did you think Lee performed?

Biesel played a good game, Lee made some plays as well.

Hard to say anyone played great when you let up over 400 yards, but at least we weren't horrifically awful...so that progress?

I wasn't a big fan of Lee when he was being recruited and I find him underwhelming. Everything spills to his position in the one gap Tampa 2. I don't think he finds the ball very well and shedding contact is not existent.

14 tackles can be a misleading stat. A lot of Beisel's tackles were 5 or more yards downfield...

The job of the MLB in the one gap Tampa 2 is to keep passing plays to the middle of the field underneath and funnel running plays to the WLB. Unless an offense is predominantly attacking the A gap, the Mike shouldn't have very many TFLs and lead the team in tackles. The WLBs had a total of 16 tackles to Beisel's 14.

I expected SC's TEs to have success in the middle of the field but two of the sacks happened because of Beisel's read on the seam.

He had a good day yesterday and played far better than I thought he would.
