Given his limited role early in the season, and suspension vs Arkansas, I'm guessing he hits at least 1500 yards this year. I think I saw he put on some weight over last year, 225? I'm betting he's a freaking bull dozer carrying the rock.

I think the media has him as a top 6? back in the SEC. I think his upside can be huge.

What do you think his ceiling is? He'll be leaned on heavily in the run game. How many yards do you think he gets?

Just depends, does he stay healthy? How many carries does Witter get? the #3 back?

Hes great though. Only back in the SEC that is any better is Guice. He's a big, strong guy. He's speed is good enough, but his vision is absolutely elite. He just has a very good feel for setting up blockers, picking holes etc. Thats all not measurable, so its underrated.

I'm more excited for Crockett this year than I have been for a Miz RB. If he can progress in his second year, I just think he can be something special.

Agreed, he needs to stay healthy. I do think Heupel will use Witter on passing downs quite a bit. Witter has proven to have a high IQ and excellent blocking. He'll get his reps.

But, with Crockett starting the season as the #1, I'm wondering how potent his season will be.

Aye. Haven't been this excited for a RB since DWash.

Crockett is a load. I can def seem him breaking at least 1200 with probably 15 TDs. He needs the ball every time inside the 5.

I'd like to see Crockett at 200 carries. Ish and Strong can divide up another 275 carries anyway you like it. The other can split 50 garbage time carries. If they have north of 500 rushing attempts as a unit, it will be a very good year.

Stl post article said that if today started the season, Dawson Downing would be the 3rd back over Strong. He seems to have the size. I wonder if he'll get some reps this year.

I read that in the other thread as well. We'll see if that is the case at the end of August.

Right. This is more of a message to Strong. Not sure why he can't get it together.

Even if he doesn't, so don't see Downing being in front of either of the freshman

I think .Crockett could get 1500 yards too. But, he won't be flying under the radar this year. Teams will try to take him away in their game plan. There will be a target on his back. Will he stay healthy? Will the Oline stay healthy to open holes for him? Will there be a sophomore jinx? (A lot of times there is a falloff in production in their 2nd year)
Lots of unanswered questions that only time will give us the answers to. I do think his upside is far greater than his down!

Downing is no slouch, he is a very good back with some speed and packs a punch with a good burst through the line, if he is in front of Strong i think its not a message so much as he has earned that role...check out his high school highlight reel and his action in the spring game, plus rumor around columbia was he was killing it in spring practice....just sayin'

I also thought Isiah Miller looked pretty damn good and advanced for having just been on campus a couple months. Looks very fast, not much power but can hit a seam and be gone for a big gain easily....im liking our RB depth, with Downing, Miller, Strong, Ish, Crockett...niot sure about the other guy just cause i havent seen him play against college players yet...but all indications he will be a nice addition as well

If teams try to game plan to stop DC, then Lock, Moore, JJ, & Mason should have huge years. There will be favorable matchups there.

Most teams see Mizzou as an air raid offense under Heupel and for good reason but aren't aware that we have a 1000 yard, 7 YPC back that was a true freshman. I made a thread a few months ago saying how I thought Crockettt could go down as the best RB in Mizzou history. Mizzou is going to have a great offense the next 2 years regardless. I don't see Lock being good enough to head to the NFL after next year, but I think he'll have something like 30 TDs, 12 interceptions, 3900 yards and 60% completion percentage. He has a strong arm but until he improves in completion percentage and desision making he won't be a top prospect.

I think Crockett is the one player on Mizzou's team that people aren't overhyping, that guy has legit NFL talent.

Definitely my most anticipated player for this years team.

I think Crockett can get 2K if the equipment guys can figure out a way to install a bong in his helmet that doesn't impede his field of vision.

jk.....maybe

Crockett is a Doak Walker canidate and possibly Heisman.
I'm envisioning him has a game changing RB who just destroys defenders.

I think Crockett is capable of that goal. But I dont see him getting there, and its for all the right reasons. I think with the improvement of Ish during last years season, plus Strong, I dont see the carrries being there. I do expect DC to continue with the high YAC and YPC. Unless im drawing a blank, we dont have any speedy RB, right? I know people are going to say well DC is fast but I mean a speedy tailback.

Having speedy WR's like JJ, Floyd, and Wingo, plus a RB with the YPC and YAC DC carries, LB's and secondaries are going to be exhausted.

Damn im so ready.

Wingo is out right now.

He's academically ineligible. He's taking a class right now, but is missing fall camp.
