Couple of the top targets are going to be in town this weekend. Mitchell Smith 6'10" big and Willie Jackson 6'6" wing.
Smith has offers/interest from TCU, Wichita State, Creighton, Kansas State among others.
Jackson is the reason why the staff backed off of Snead.
Both have commit able offers. Smith says that he will wait until spring to sign.

I don't give a shite if you call it racism or what label you want to put on it, you know damn well what references to different races will get you banned and what won't. Use them and you're gone. Don't use them and have all the fun you want.

I don't know that I buy that we backed off on Sneed. It had been rumored that he was no longer considering Mizzou and people have started to twist that so it doesn't look like we missed on yet another in state 4*.

I'm just repeating the narrative that the guys at PM and RockMNation are passing along about Sneed & Jackson's recruitment.
You are probably right in that they didn't think they could get Sneed so focused on someone that they thought they had a great shot of getting.
He averaged 17 points & 14 rebounds last year.

I agree, I think Jackson can be good, but idk that they preferred him over Sneed. Jackson seems like an undersized 4, where Sneed seems like a big 2 guard. They have very different games from all the tape I watched on both. So that could play into it too I suppose.

Bossi chimed in on PM about those two visiting this weekend. He said Smith is hard to project, he looked good at the start of AAU but hasn't done much over the past several months, and he's not sure what the ceiling is for him as he's so thin to be an inside guy. We need a true inside banger imo, not another face up 4 who will get pushed around all game. Jackson he said mostly plays the 4 in HS and AAU, but at 6'6 he's way to small to be an SEC 4. Since he doesn't play much wing its once again hard to tell what he will become, but said he is a scrapper and likes contact, but is undersized at the 4 and an unknown on the wing.
Smith also plans on waiting till the spring to sign. Hopefully we can land a true big, we desperately need one.

Looks like we're getting ready to back off of Cook.

Thought Cook told Mizzou a while ago that he was no longer considering us.
That's why Smith now has a comitable offer.

Well, if it's old news, I guess it doesn't matter.

Sam snelling was my HS sub teacher, hes weird. Go on.

Cook hasn't officially told us no, he's went radio silent from what I've seen. People around Mizzou and around him have let it out that he's not high on Mizzou right now, until he commits there's still a chance. I mean, I don't think KA is capable of landing him, but still a chance.

Appreciate it guys. If I heard it I didn't remember being out most likely on Cook too now. My thoughts on that are probably pretty obvious.

Until Mizzou starts winning or KA gets fired and the new coach is flashy, recruiting is going to be a struggle.
For now all hope for Mizzou has to be on developing current players. Wright, Clark, & Gant seem to be the most likely guys for turning things around.
Both Jackson & Smith are ranked around 200 nationally.

Lol this coach. Its not all his fault. But you can have coach K and calipri as assistants. We still wouldn't land cook or anyone better. The head coach has to close the deal.
Watching tapes from the 80s and 90s won't do it

The quickest way to go from shite to winning is to build a defensive team. Once youve done that you can start winning then began getting better talent.

Sounds like Smith and Jackson are expected to commit this weekend. #lowhangingfruit

How many top 150 players does Wichita State have? It can be done without getting the best, but in the mean time it could be some rough turbulence.
