Basketball - at what point did we improve this year

What I have seen against some good teams the last 3 games has me thinking - When would you chalk this year up as an "improvement"?
Last years record was 15-17
We have beat some good teams, it's a shame we can't beat the Texas A&M's and Charleston Southern (that still hurts) of the world...
For me, id say going .500 and winning a game in the SEC tourney... Playing in the NIT (as disappointing as it is) would be very beneficial for this team as well imo.

Without finishing .500, you can't really call this season an "improvement" over last year. With that said, we can still recognize improvement within the season even if we don't make it to .500. The team looks like it is learning to play without Tilmon and they are better for it.
It's been a weird season with good performances on the road @ Xavier, soundly beating Illinois, and hammering Florida... but losing to Charleston Southern and Texas A&M like you said. We need to figure out how to manufacture points when our shots aren't falling.

This is a great take... We also have to learn how to play on the road. If my memory is correct we have only won one TRUE road game (@ Temple) all year.

We had a great game at Florida when we shot 63% from the three-point line.
We had a good game at Auburn when we shot 53% from the three-point line.
Moving forward I expect us to do quite well in all games where we shoot over 50% from the 3-point line.

.500 is treading water.
I’d like to see a Odom-esque finish to the season to really show progress. There’s no really unbeatable teams left on the schedule. No reason to not finish strong.

We actually have some strong wins for the year, but just way too many bed shittings. Not just losing, but getting pounded and several times by bad to mediocre teams.
Maybe they can actually salvage something here. We’ll see. I still have very serious doubts about Cuonzo, but happy to see the team playing better. Mizzou Arena was a great atmosphere on Saturday and I’d love to see it get back to that regularly

Adding to this:
A loss at Vandy tonight would cement a regression

Vandy has better talent than Mizzou, but they are a young team playing for pride just like Mizzou.

Why?
Their amazing history?
The coach has been there so long?
Their facilities?

I'm still trying to figure out at what point we improved
