We need some, or better ones.

Ole fricking Miss has the #1 recruiting class right now. They are very obviously cheating and not getting caught. Maybe we should hire someone from their staff to show us the way of the bagman.

I'm sure we "cheat" just like anyone else, but we need to get better at it.

Clearly. Obviously. Could not be more certain.

We need to compete. Money, booze, drugs, prostitutes. Whatever it takes

Ha!!

As much as I hate to get into that game, we need to get into that game. Just a little. If we have a bagman, he needs to do better. Much better.

I worry that Ole Miss is going to get caught and be just a big enough name that the NCAA makes an example of them. Which I can live with mind you, but the NCAA might decide to start fishing in SEC waters while they are here.

Nah. Bagmen are only needed if you don't think you can win otherwise. I know we can, so I don't think bagmen are needed.

Places like Ole Miss need bagmen, we don't.

Winning is all we need.

And you know they'd turn a blind eye to Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, etc.

Sugar, I admire your optimism. But you are naive. If we are ever going to turn the corner and get to big wins that matter, we are going to have to play the game and get a little dirty. A few months ago, ATX posted a thread about Mizzou and. Andy being the only SEC teams that didn't cheat, at least at basketball. Alden had difficulty getting a basketball coach because (in part) he refused to get into gray areas in recruiting. And look where we are today.

I do not advocate some of the more unsavory activities other SEC programs allegedly pursue. But when all your competition is cheating, I'm afraid we aren't going to see the results we want to see unless our hands get a little dirty. We simply won't get the athletes to compete with the big boys. The two SECCGs showed us that.

Every program has bagmen. Most aren't as brazen as Chris Kiffen or Pat Dye.

That's why Alden didn't wanna hire Ben Howland bc he was worried about his gray area recruiting. It's time we do what it takes to win!!

Meh, we definitely had the team to win in 13. We just didn't.

So it CAN be done, but it sure as shite makes it hard. I'm just ready to get full blown into SEC bagmen culture. The SEC is the dirtiest conference in the country. Time to assimilate.
