I cannot leave until Friday night, which would suck. It would be in a pain in the arse to go, but I really want to. I am waiting to see if it will be a night game before I make the call.

Are any of you guys making the trip? What do you expect out of it? I know nothing about Oxford.

My dad is a college coach (not at Mizzou) and I went when his team played there a few years ago.

The Grove is neat, but the tailgates are basically a condensed version of Lot A/B...so it's not anything a Mizzou fan hasn't experienced before. People were nice, but don't necessarily invite you to tailgate with them. As a female, I can say that the girls are top notch, but that's because they are dressed like they are going to a wedding (who doesn't look good then?). The guys are like 2-3's, I feel bad for all girls that attend Ole Miss. At the end of the game it was humorous to see all the girls with bloody feet from their high heels...life is too short for heels at football games.

Traffic is terrible. Oxford and the Ole Miss campus is honestly like the size of Warrensburg/UCM but with 10x the people. It's hard to find anywhere to eat that doesn't take you 2 hours unless you get fast food.

Game experience was fun. The outside of the stadium looks really nice, but the concourses were from about 1950. Lines were long.

So...although my write up isn't necessarily a glowing review, it was an experience Mizzou won't have for another 12 years or so, so go if you get the chance.

I live in Memphis and have been a few times. The last time was when Chase Daniel lead a Mizzou team in there.

I know a lot of people who tail gate so I have had a lot of fun there. The town square is where I would park. It is about a 2 mile walk but an easy 2 mile walk. You will end up at the square if you are not leaving for Beale Street or Tunica right away.

It is a beautiful college town. Wear your Cardinal cap because they are big Cardinal fans.

You should have fun and the weather should be in the high 50's low 60's. Perfect football weather

Your best bet would be to stay in Memphis, because you're not going to be able to get a hotel room in Oxford. It's only an hour drive though.

Parking is a nightmare, but there are numerous off-campus parking sites that have a free shuttle, or as suggested before, park near the square. It really is an easy walk.

The Grove is an experience, and it will be packed. If you are drinking, just make sure you put it in a cup, and you won't have a problem. You can't grill in the Grove, so it will be finger foods in the tents.

We do have a small stadium, so there's really not a bad seat in the house. After the game, people either head back to the Grove or to the square.

I hope you have a good time if you come, and I'm hoping for an injury free game for both teams!

You know, I'll admit that I've worn heels to games before - generally when I'm tailgating right outside the stadium and won't be walking around much. Or when I sat in the suites and you needed to dress nicely. But in general? Nope.

Having moved south and experienced Alabama tailgating, I can say that I'm shocked at some of the things I see college girls wearing to games. (Not all girls, but some.) Skirts they can't bend over in without showing their coochie, with 4 inch heels? Strapless things that are just begging some drunk frat boy to yank southward? Tops, or dresses, that are backless and barely cover their arse? (And when I say barely, I mean not really because you just about see cheeks.) It's like a contest to see how little they can wear without needing a pole to dance around. Then, they swig cheap whiskey or vodka straight out of the bottle, get blindingly drunk and fall - that's inevitable - and give everyone a show.

And I'll just say - I'm definitely not a prude. I love little black dresses, snug jeans with sexy tops, and am a big believer in FM shoes - every girl should have lots of these in her closet. Wear them out, to the bars, parties, etc. But to a football game? Especially when it's in the 40s or 50s during the game? No. Just no. Of course, I was raised by a straight-laced mamma who would have kicked my little butt for dressing like that. And a daddy who saw a bikini-clad me heading for the pool as a teenager and told me I'd obviously forgotten part of my suit and to get back upstairs and find it before even thought of leaving the house.

These are ridiculous, but make for funny people watching.
I saw plenty of them for the LSU game, and it was cold that game. I think they look pretty trashy no matter who wears them, but it's even worse when the girl doesn't have the body to do it.

I wear dresses for the hot games, but with wedge or flat sandals, and I wear jeans and boots to the later fall games. I want to be warm.

Yep - you sound like me! And wedges may be heels, but they're not stilettos like some I've seen tottering around. Those are in a different class.

And i would never be comfortable in those coochie-flashers - I'd always be trying to tug it down! But yes - the people watching is outstanding! And not just the drunk students!

I'll be at the Ole Miss game and already booked a condo about a 1.5 mile walk from the stadium per Google Map and that includes getting through The Grove. Hotel rooms were basically impossible.

I was told on Saturday to expect an 1.5 hour or more drive from downtown Memphis with traffic plus horrific parking that might take an addition 1/2 hour that still leaves you 3/4+ of a mile from the stadium.

I have been shocked at what girls wear now to Mizzou games. Believe, I'm all for looking cute, but wearing no tights with a short mini-skirt and a barely there top when it's 45 degrees out is just not worth it to me.

I guess now we're known for the "Mizzou Mini" per Clay Travis.

Mini skirts aren't necessarily trashy. It's what's worn (or not worn) with them that's the issue. Cute =\= trashy. Girls need to figure this out. Or, just continue flashing their goodies at the world, I guess.

You teach people how to treat you. And whether or not to respect you. It takes longer for some to figure that out than others.

Have some buddies that are going but not sure yet if I'll be able to make it.

Went in 2007 and had a good time at the Grove. We actually stayed in Tunica and did some gambling after the game. Probably just over an hour or so drive from Oxford! Should be a fun weekend and a good game.

I'm going. Probably going to stay in Memphis Friday and Saturday nights.

It's a 6:45 kickoff, so looks like the wife gets Designated Driver duty.

Can't wait to experience the Grove and the campus, which I hear is beautiful.
