I have watched Missouri alot this year. The question i have is...Why do your QB's stand flat footed in the pocket?
Most QB's that line up in the pistol or shotgun are on the balls of their feet and moveing.
Is that taught by your OC?It seems when they get pressure they have a hard time taking that first step to move.
Thoughts?

It has to do with timing and the jets and read options. Its like having a pitcher in Baseball keep the same motion and arm action when he throws a FB or a Curve to keep the hitter honest. It keeps the D from keying and picking up on the pass.

Its been in our offense since the Chase Daniel Days.

I understand what you are saying kilo, but I don't buy it as the way it should be done. I don't think that Yost and Pinkel are such football geniuses that they and only they have figured out there is an advantage to not being in an athletic position. Try throwing a baseball, swinging a bat, shoot a basketball, kick a ball or anything else that requires any bit of athleticism while standing straight legged and flat footed.

My thoughts are you should come be our OC. Seriously. The flat footed, straight legged stuff drives me nuts. Both Berkstresser and Franklin do it. I think Gabbert tried but had happy feet and could never stand in one place.

I dont know if it works or not honestly, I just know thats why its done. It would be really easy to read the QB after the snap for the defenses to determine pass or run without some continuity of motion between running and passing plays in our offense.

Reedus, the way you responded to Kilo is hilarious. You do know that your response made no sense in context to what Kilo said..

And you want this Bama poster to be our OC.. you said seriously. But I know you were joking (I hope).

Yes, I was dead serious. If he can recognize that just about nothing done athletically is done straight legged and flat footed, then he has the job.

Sorry guys i didnt intend to start an arguement
You see,I have been a part of highschool football for the last 20 yrs as a volunteer assistant. And any team i have came across that ran the spread or run&shoot or any version in that type formation. The QB has always been active,ie moving.
It was just odd seeing your QB's taking snaps and making reads that way.
