Illinois just got a commitment from a top 100 athlete from Dallas.

Are we going to do this every time a player commits elsewhere again??? Sigh...

Naw. Just 9 more times. The other in state misses I don't much care about.

In all seriousness, kid is a tremendous athlete. Might not stick at Illinois but then again, if he wants to play QB, he just might stick. I'd be shocked if the Bamas of the world were recruiting him as a QB.

Yup, he is a great athlete. He's not a great QB. He's an elite athlete though, so he certainly can play QB and get by on his athleticism.

He'd be better off playing corner somewhere though. That's his path to the league.

Again, HIGHLY doubt he sticks because Illinois is going to be god awful again next year. They'll get a few Trinity kids, but I doubt they get the elite ones. We'll see.

Illinois is going to win 2 games next year. They are terrible in the trenches on both sides of the ball and don't have a QB.

6'3" and has a lot of range on the back end.
Also a very good all around track athlete. Needs to add some weight, but that's no big deal.

Nice to get into Michigan a bit more. Plenty of talent there.

It really is. Highly doubt they'll stick though. Williams might just because of his relationship with Patterson.

They won't win a conference game this year. Lovie will be gone.

He's probably earned himself one more year by hiring a HS coach

He would be 2-27 in conference play. He won't survive that.

His buyout is pretty high and Illinois is certainly used to sucking. He'll bring in a few highly rated kids and that will be enough for him to keep his job.

He'll probably be fired the year after though

They would owe him $11 mill after the 2018 season and winning 2 B1G games in 3 years would give them a leg to negotiate on. It's that or fire and rehire your coordinators and both line coaches.

No Mizzou for in state wideout

So far it looks like the 2nd year under Odom that Mizzou will stink-out in the state of Missouri. It's strange that Nebraska is almost always on the list of a top Mizzou homestate recruit.

I have a feeling we are going to get skull fricked in State once again here.

Not sure what the problem is, but it's definitely a big issue.

Odom isn’t charismatic, comes off like an ahole, easy to negative recruit against him since he probably needs a great season to keep his job, top recruits in state mostly come from stl and Mizzou has never had a good track record there, top level recruits will always prefer blue bloods even if those schools have not been successful in a long time (I can’t not remember the last time Nebraska put an offensive player in the first round), Mizzous tracker record with skill position players is not that great outside of Maclin, Odom wants guys that want to come to Mizzou so won’t kiss guys a$$ except no 17 or 18 year old kid whos a top level recruit wants to go to any school really and it takes kissing their a$$ to get them, and winning.
