Ranked him a 5* punter and 4.5* kicker. Not bad, CGP must want some more consistency at the P/K position after all the Baggett misses last year.

We were spoiler for a while at those positions. And it's critical that we have consistent play there. Good move by the staff, IMO.

Fatony will be punting. He'll be replacing Brinser at some point - likely in 2 yrs, but possibly sometime next year. I don't think we'll be seeing him at placekicker, at least not for a while. Baggett might be in line for a good year if he can get a hot start.

Not sure I'm sold on Baggett, but it also doesn't appear this one is much of a kicker. Might develop into one, but it looks like punting is what he's known for.

Agree, the idea that Jeff Wolfert or Jake Harry is just going to happen along every few years is kind of say pipedreamy..
Should be no questions asked about landing a 5 star kicker with an early schollie offer.

Baggett is going to have either a great year, or a year where people light his couch on fire. After last years debacles he's on a very short leash with the fan base.

Ugh, we need some more action on the recruiting front. I'm tired of hearing about UT and their amazing classes when we've kicked their assets 2 years in a row, with a 3rd likely this year. Give me some 4* defense players!

I was just about to post something similar. The Aggies are killing it as well.
Any theories / educated guesses / insider knowledge on why recruiting's hit a wall?

Not sure, I'm a PM member, but Gabe hasn't really mentioned anyone close to committing yet. For some reason he thinks we'll only take 8 or 9 more, but we just lost 2 defensive players and I'm sure we'll process some kids after the season, so I would guess we take a full 20 this year. We get mentioned by 4* guys right and left, but none are close to committing. I think we'll see a few 2 and 3* commit until the season gets underway, then if we have a good year we can pull in the higher rated kids who are currently holding out.
I thought there'd be more excitement from recruits after our good season and hot start to this cycle, but it feels really dead right now compared to our peers.

I would imagine some are waiting to see which is the true Tiger team. Our first season or last season. We should get off to a fast start with the 4 ooc games. Hopefully we can ride that momentum.

Which is why I didn't understand the amount of low hanging fruit we took in last years class. No idea why we took so many.
