Meh. We'll see. Supposed locks are 50/50 crap shoots. Hendrix? Beckner? Strong? Some we guess right. Some we guess wrong. Some we just have to wait and see. I could put a completely different spin on the tweet in that he was trying a last minute sales job and as soon as he found out it was Bama, took it down.

Right now if we land Beckner and another 4 star OL, I think this class is made, easily what we need.

Beckner would be far more important than Hentges or Ofodile.

I'm not going off the tweet, but it was blatantly obvious that he was mocking Mizzou fans. If it wasn't when you first read it, then it should have been when he removed it. He knew where Hentges was going when he posted that.

I can't blame a kid for choosing Ohio State/Bama over Mizzou, 100,000 fans + for home games! double the athletic budget! supreme facilities, Heisman Trophy winners and national championships. Wish he'd stayed home.

MIZZOU, sources stop being sources when they are revealed. Believe or don't. He has proven to be a reliable source.

I can, frick that we will always be 2nd class when our fans accept that. No ill will to the kid but when we lose out I am never going to be like well it is Bama so that is OK. frick that I want to be like a Bama or tOSU.

In my mind, it really depends on the reason they didn't choose Mizzou, if they legitimately feel they would not have much or any chance to be a valued field player, I can see going elsewhere. That may have come into play for Hentges, if he felt he is more an Andruw Jones than a Micheal Egnew then he has a fair reason for going elsewhere. Right now it's up to Mizzou to prove they can use a more traditional TE effectively.

If you just went elsewhere for more "swag" then I don't care about you, as cousin Vido would say, "you are dead to me now".

Valid point and that is OK but we as a fanbase are still damaged by the dark ages of Mizzou football and accept less then we should

As an alumnus of both Mizzou and Helias High School, Hale's decision stings a bit...especially since it is in the same conference.

I'm hoping that Mizzou has another great year, we continue to add to this great class.

And.. I hope that with less depth at WR we see more use of TE's this year, and in a more traditional fashion.

Those three things happening could get us a flip from Hentges.

also a valid point, BUT, most of these kids were toddlers when Brad Smith was cruising up and down the field on USCe, they're more interested in the fact that several SEC schools have a back to back or couple of NC's recently.

I'd actually see it as a plus that he chose an SEC school over a tOSu, NUb or OkiU type school.

Even the so called blue bloods lose in state players to out of state, if you consider kids just across the border eg, East STL or KCk as "state" kids which they more or less are, we are doing pretty well.

I used to think the same way but college is different from professional sports. You can't just work hard and build a champion, you are what you are and you can never change it, if you've never at least played in a championship game in your history than it will never happen. Same thing with college basketball, to win a tourney you have to have a final four appearance in your history or you will never will anything. This is what Mizzou is.

It's fact. Just look at history, the only teams in college that win championships are the ones with tradition, look up all the past champions.

I was gonna mention schools not named Miami/Florida/St. That's a college football hot bed, best recruits in the country. Seriously if a non-traditional power ever wins a national chamionship again I will smash my left nut with a hammer. It's not going to happen especially with the new playoff system.
