I think if we get Beckner we also pull in his teammate Strong...
I could be wrong, but I'd bet it would happen the other way around. Get Strong and hopefully that pulls in Beckner. Beckner is going to be sought by everyone.

Lock is a stud. Aside from Beckner, he may be the one I want to pull down the most in 2015.
Missed out on top players this year that a majority were OLinemen. There's a lot of talent in the area next year just maybe not as much on the OLine. If we can do a better job at home or near home, it could be a really good class.

Updated the offer list on OP. So far looks like a strong list. Several guys from Georgia which seems like it will become our new Texas.

Name to keep an eye out in the future: Jeff Thomas (East St. Louis 2017). Freshman WR with multiple 100+ receiving games already.

Is that the guy their coach was talking about earlier in the year? I'm guessing it is.

Updated the offer list. I know a few 2015 prospects are in COMO today. Carlos Davis is one I know for sure. If I come across any other names I will post them. Very big weekend for 2014 and 2015 classes.

are we going to regret taking 234 kids in this '14 class?
can someone that knows things tell me if we're going to be able to take 20 plus in this '15 class.

As far as I know we will be able to take at least 25 in 2015. Remember for 2013, we only had 20 commits, 18 enrolled, 1 enrolled early, 1 left, 2 went JUCO and one of those chose to not even do that. So our 2013 class is really 16 players. For 2013, Bauer will enroll early, Lil DGB will likely reclassify or grey shirt, and sounds like a few more players will enroll early. So our 2014 class right now is which has 25 commits is closer to 22 or 20 that count against this class. 2015 we should be able to take at least 25. Chase Abbington is the first commit of 2015. 24 left.

ST, the politician in me may not speak as blunt as you, but I do share the same concerns. It seems like there was a knee jerk reaction to last years class, and I'm not talking about who actually came but rather how small it was. I think the staff got burned after the poor season and reacted this year by taking too many kids too soon. Having said that, I'd never yank a scholarship away from anyone, but I do wish they wouldn't have panicked.

It seems like the fans are the ones who are in panic mode (at least the ones who post on here). This is almost worse than reading nasty negative comments about politics).
I happen to trust the coaching staff and really enjoy watching the kids they've developed. My guess is that more people have that perspective than the gloom and doom and whine and cry we see here so often.
