I watched him play a lot. He must have some issues going on because I thought his talent on the field was top notch.

word is, he cheated on the ACT and got caught and is headed to CMSU.

Someone on the PM board said they sat next to ESL coach Hawthorne on a flight and he thinks Beckner and strong will both be at Mizzou next year.

one more piece of advice for you Davis boys, and you should listen up. I believe one of you is a 3 star and the other a 4 under most recruitment orgs.. that means a lot of programs want one of you more than the other.

A lot of schools will offer you BOTH a schollie, but when push comes to shove, "oh we ran out of schollarships, sorry 3 star Davis bro. you're gonna have to GREY SHIRT".

That won't happen at Mizzou, if Pinkel says he has a 'ship for both of you, you can believe it, he's not gonna pull the rug out from under you. Something you should consider.

Don't know what effect, but I don't think Coach Kaz was retained at Nebraska. Looks like they hired the co-DC from Cincinnati to be a co-DC and DL coach with Riley's staff. Not sure I've seen any reaction from the Davis twins, but my first thought was...was Cincy's defense even any good? Mixed reactions, with most questioning it on the Nebraska board.

Yea it sounds like they are still clearly up for grabs, one of the reasons I brought this topic back up. If they turn down Mizzou for just about anybody, they could easily wind up regretting it.

From reading the interview that PM had with the twins recently, it sounds to me like Nus 60% and Mizzou 40%. These kids grew up eating, breathing and watching Nub's Football. They are all things Nub's. Their parents are more in favor of the Nub's as well. I think they are giving Mizzou their shot, but it's my opinion and uphill fight for Andy Hill and I don't know if he can do it alone.

To me, if Mizzou is serious about landing these two. If it were me, I would gather up Pinkel, Kul, Hill and Odom and arrange a couple in person visits to their home and HS, yes, in the Pinkel recruiting chopper. There is plenty of room to land that big sucker right in the front yard of Blue Springs HS for everyone to see. That chopper is a powerful recruiting tool. I think that's how we got Gabbert away from the Nub's. Pissed the Nub's off at the same time. It was beautifully planned and executed by Pinkel.

Pull it out Pinkel!

Watched an interview someone posted of their new coach. Guy was not very impressive. He's really kind of, well, dull. Watching paint dry would be more exciting that this guy. Not saying he isn't a good coach, just not on let's say a Steck level. Not on the same level. Just an observation.

I agree. Getting GP and Kul and Odom involved is a must IMO. It shows the importance and at the same time, Kul's accomplishments can be talked about 1st hand. Odom is important because he's new. And from all accounts a solid recruiter in his own right.

And yes...

My take is the twins grew up Nub fans but are concerned about me first. They are afraid their careers will sputter away at Nebraska. The parents and family, on the other hand, are all about Nebraska at all cost. I think their kids playing at Nebraska is the end all, be all and they're not looking at the bigger picture, namely the opportunity to make millions in the NFL.

Not that it would have a lot to do with it, but one of the twins was hurt or playing with injuries some of the season. I just don't remember which one. It did impact his final stats. Maybe that's why one is rated a little lower. Dunno. Just throwing it out there.

But I get your post. It's spot on. Something to really mull over before the biggest decision in their lives. At this point, it's basically two things for me.

1.)Mizzou's program has never been more stable than it is right now. They will be under the tutelage of one of the best D-line coaches in CFB. Nub's cannot claim that. We have one of the highest sought after DC's coming in this year.

2.)Just the track record. The integrity of the program. The amount and quality of D-line players Mizzou has put into the NFL. Those scouts are and will watch Mizzou for more of these guys. That's a fact. Another thing that the Nub's cannot lay claim to. It's a hit and miss for them. Our D-lineman go first round consistently.

OK so here is a third one, it just came to me. Would rather go to a school that has a Tiger as a mascot rather than a school that has a half necked boy in red colored Osh Kosh By Gosh's in the middle of a corn field playing with his corn cobb. That's just got creepy all over it. Don't be a children of the corn. Be a Tiger!

There, I said.

Ivey too maybe?

I'd also reiterate, last season the SEC put more kids in the NFL than all other conferences combined, I believe, the scouts will definitely be watching you if you play in the SEC, it's not even a question, it's a guaranteed fact.

I used to think the same way Reedus. But the more I listen to their interviews I still think people underestimate the lure of the Nub's past glory. They are still riding that wave. It's still alive and well. Their parents and family only reassure it. I think there is also a disdain for all things Mizzou deep down also. No s much with the twins but the parents and family. It was programed into them while growing up. It's not unlike the disdain we have for say KU or Illini.

I think the kids are a bit more open to the possibility than the parents. From what I have seen and read, there is a misconception that coaches at BSHS guide their kids to Kstate and the Nub's and away from Mizzou. But that's not what I'm hearing. I am hearing that there are coaches trying to talk sense into them because they see the big picture. They are pro Mizzou as far as the twins go. This is from a very close source on PM and I believe him. He or she is either a teacher or fellow student and talks to them daily. What is scary is this source has stopped posting anything. So that tells me that they have either told this source to keep it to themselves or they are leaning heavily to the Nub's and they just don't want to share. I would say they just want to keep quiet for now, take their visits and then announce on signing day.

40% chance is still a good shot. Gut feeling from all I have read is Mizzou. But it's hard to single it down after this last article. They really seem neutral. I gave us 40% just because of their family influence. If it were not for that it would be a solid 50/50 shot.

I think you just said what I was trying to say in a much more understandable way. The reason I think the twins, themselves, may be more open to Mizzou, is because they are also looking at what is best for them, not just being led by those emotions that you talk about. The question is, will the head or the heart win out? If their heart is not in Mizzou, frankly, they probably shouldn't come. They'll never realize their potential if the only reason they come is because their head tells them that Mizzou offers a better opportunity to progress.

yea I disagree, kids that age often don't have a clue... what they can do and become is still up to them after they get here. You think Chase Daniels, Elvis Fisher or Sean Weatherspoons, hearts were set on playing at Mizzou? They turned out pretty well though didn't they.
