Coach Pinkel is the #19 highest paid coach (7th in the SEC)
That's above each of the following coaches who are out recruiting Mizzou:
Franklin - Vanderbilt
Mullen - Miss State
Sumlin - A&M
Muschamp - Florida
Malzahn - Auburn
Mark Stoops - Kentucky
Hugh Freeze - Ole Miss

Pinkel is the highest paid state employee in Missouri. We should have very high expectations, given this information.

That really puts it in perspective doesn't it.

Would love to have a beer with Pinkel. Think he's a guys guy...

But I'm done with him. Even if he has a good year.. There seems to be an incredible gap in effort between him and other coaches. Would I rather hang out with Mike Stoops? No. Guy looks like a car salesmen, but he's selling the shite out of Kentucky. Saban, same thing. Would not like to sit at a bar with him as much as Pinkel, but he's a workhorse. Pinkel just seems so mehh when it comes to recruiting with a lot of effort and salesmanship.

Even reading the article by Matter about the new assistant basketball coach, you can just feel the energy coming from his words. He's a dirty salesman, but in that little article it made me think of Mizzou in a very bright light. Pinkel doesn't have that ability.

Saw that. Definitely a different type of receiver than we've seen recently at only 5'10" and 160 pounds.

On the basketball front, it's time for these recruiting gurus (Fuller and Phelps) to get to work as well. How about a top high school player instead of a transfer?

3* Nate Brown lists Mizzou and Vandy as his top 2. No word when he plans to announce. 247 predicts him to Mizzou

These kids most definitely go to these recruiting websites..

If you're a recruit and you visit powermizzou.com right now, what would you think of the Mizzou program?

Five 2 star players... it looks godawful. Would definitely be a turn off, especially when I'd click over on UK and see all those shiny stars. No idea why we took on some of these dumpster dives so early in the recruiting process.

Any idea how accurate those predictions are or if any one person tends to be more accurate than the others?

Charlie Strong is at Louisville, and renegotiated his contract last season when Tennessee tried to hire him away. Louisville paid big $$ to keep him, over $3m a year if I remember right. They locked him up for a while.

As far as how we look on Power Mizzou, we can't do a thing about that. I guarantee Pinkel's contract situation is being used against us in recruiting, and it's showing. BUT, keep in mind the difference between the stars. A 4* or 5* player is likely to be able to contribute immediately. A 3* player is also D1 talent, but more likely to redshirt for a year. The 2* players just need more time to develop. And a 2* kid from Florida may be a high 3* in another part of the country, or at a slightly different position. It's so subjective I try not to let it rustle me too much.

Good point semo. We have to start making in roads somewhere, I just wish we had more buzz around our program. I am just am ready for 68 more days and football starts hopefully Pinkel can turn things around but if he can't I hope administration acts and doesn't let us sink farther down in the sec.

Also really like Nate Brown, he looks to have great upside.
