Was talking to my friend whose little sister's basketball coach is Jamone Boyd's legal guardian and he said that she said he will probably being going to Arkansas.
Take this with a grain of salt because he may change his mind or whatever, but I just wanted to let you all know.
Sucks because he is a good player in a spot we could use some more depth.

Now that we've got a pretty good idea of how our recruiting is going where does everyone expect us to end up at the end of this cycle. Top25? Top half of the SEC?
I truly believe we need to start recruiting in the top half of the SEC if we truly want long term success. Looks like we're not in on very many more big fish and I expect to see lots of low 3 and 2 stars filling up this class

From what I've read, it sounds like he'll have to go the juco route though.
I'd like to see us get some D-line recruits in this class. The 1 we have isn't enough, not by a long shot.

We're currently 29 on one ranking I looked at and 23 in another and 12th and 10th in the SEC on those two. I don't see us moving up the board anymore. I would guess we'll end up somewhere in the 40's and 10-12 in the SEC.

What's with all this doom and gloom? Remember how many verbals we got from December to Signing Day last year?
A 10th place class in the SEC is a top 25 class nationally and honestly that's pretty good for us.

Not doom and gloom. I would be happy if we stay in the 30's this year, low 30's even better. We'll get some more decent players still but I just think the out of state recruiting will be down a little bit this year as we transition. We'll still get some Texas kids, just maybe not as many or as many stars. We'll get some kids from the southeast but not as many stars as we'll get in 5 years, so I think this year, as far as the ranking services go, we'll be down a little bit. Which is ok with me. One I don't put huge stock in the services. Second, we always seem to do fine with 3 and even 2 star players.
2006 58(nationally)/13th(of SEC teams)
2007 39/12
2008 31/8
2009 38/13
2010 27/9
2011 46/13
2012 33/12 (and that's with the #1 player in the nation)
40's/10th would be on the low end but not unheard of based on the last 6 years and if I think the out of state recruiting is going to be tough in a transition year I don't think it's necessarily doom and gloom. We'll still do well no matter what.

It's going to take a few wins or games in the new conference before there's serious considerations made by some of these southeast recruits looking at Mizzou. Were at a slight disadvantage to the Aggies when it comes to recruiting. Most kids in Texas are somewhat familiar with thier cultures and traditions. With Mizzou, it's a big mistery. This is where the hype about Mizzou getting thier butts handed to us hurts our recruiting alittle with kids in the southeast.
I know if I were a top recruit, I'd have to see what Mizzou was all about by watching some games and visiting thier campus before seiously considering them. The games part is big. Like we have seen here, there are people on this site, that have never watched a Mizzou game and we're a big mistery. Until we get rolling there will be sporatic recruiting at football.

I agree. This year could go a long way to helping that understanding and knowledge by kids in the southeast.

UGA just took their 25th Commit. That would seemingly eliminate them. I dont think Richt greyshirts.

UGA is planning on taking 34 this year.

I thought teams were capped at 25 a year now?
Posted on 8/13/12 at 8:09 pm to Stripes314
Kind of. They only signed 19 last year so they can back count 6 guys to last years class if they enroll in December and then they aren't at the 85 man scholarship limit currently so they can fill those few remaining spots as well.

Missed that originally. Thanks for the assistance.
