I hope the coaches are on EE and these Oregon kids like white on rice. We need to use every possibly scholarship for a recruit that can contribute!
Don't get me wrong, I love walk-on players for their heart and their tenacity - and sometimes they pan out. But I want to see us work to bring in SEC-calibre recruits.

Bradenton,FL OT Trevon Young has FIU and Mizzou in his top 2.

Which is what I have a problem with. What part of this says "Big Back"? Dude is just tall. 195 wont cut it on the goal line in the SEC. And no, you cant just throw 40 or 50 pounds on him. They need to put him at his natural position.

He can fill out and make it to 210-215

I agree CA doesn't have a typical RB body type.. but to say he won't be big enough around the goal line is head scratching.
Lawrence and Josey are under 200 lbs. Yes, a totally different center of gravity.. but still.
Rivals has CA at 6'4 210. He looks more like 195. I would expect that he would be up to 210-220 by his sophomore year. There is nothing small about 6'4 215. I expect he'll be used to catch the ball a lot too.
Also, who knows.. maybe he won't be in the goal line package as a RB. Maybe we'll have a Markel Smith pounding it in.

I'm pretty sure I was just advocating keeping him at RB..

In that case.. Yeldon 2.0?

I still dont think that makes it worth it. But we will see what happens.

He'll have just about the same physical make-up as TJ Yeldon.. plus we'll have some smashers that can pound it on the goal line (Markel Smith).

Markel fits the big back mold much better in my opinion. With Abbington, I feel like you are trying to shove a square peg in a round hole. And slapping a bunch of weight on him is just rounding the edges.

Dude, Abbington should have the same physical stats as TJ Yeldon. Slapping 10-15 pounds is not only standard, it's less than average for a h.s player moving up to college.

I just hope CA turns out to be Yeldon 2.0 and not Wingo 2.0. A kid who could make a real name on the other side of the ball but is meh as a RB.
