As bad as Croom left it, Dan did have some NFL talent left for him. Ray is fighting an uphill battle when he was left with Stansbury's shitty thugs and the old boosters who still knight for him.
What say you?

Easily Stans. Dan was able to win three SEC games and nearly make a bowl. We might win five games with a fricking basketball schedule.

Stansbury and it is not even close...

Rick Ray = Croom 2.0
His replacement in 3 or 4 years will be our Mullen.

Stans
He left a late term abortion
The players he left were Lewis and Steele, as I said abortion

Who left State in a worse situation?
Croom or the situation that fell upon the MSU basketball program after Stans was fired... I mean resigned.

Stans isn't the reason behind the shite show we are in. Keep him on for one more year and we are able to hire a better coach and he would inherit a team stacked with talent when he stepped on campus. Firing Stans when we did was plain stupidity.

This is so ridiculously hypocritical.
There is exactly ONE conclusive similarity between these two guys at this point in time, and judgement based on that has NO place at Mississippi State or anywhere else for that matter. Otherwise, show me some similarities in personality or method of coaching...if you can? Yeah, that's what I thought.
Rick Ray reminds me of John Cohen a whole hell of a lot more than Sylvester Croom...but then again, you hated Cohen for 2.75 years too, so I guess I should expect this type of bullshite out of you.

Boom sauce.

This. I have said this multiple times. I like the way he coaches and if he can get some talent I think he will be good. Give him a few years and a chance before we write him off and start looking for another coach

I respectfully disagree. I've never felt bad enough about a State team from any sport that I could blindly bet that we wouldn't cover the spread and know I was going to make money. I have some serious maroon glasses that I put on every single morning and I just cannot see a good end to this. We are 3-4 years away from being competitive on any level.

Sounds like you didn't too much betting in the 2010-2011 season on our basketball team.

We aren't that far away. One recruiting class can change the dynamic. And if you can't see that Stansbury put us in the situation that we are in then I really can't help you

no fire him a year earlier than we did before he fricks our program up and the new coach would have had a team full of talent.

Also true. My point is we fired him at the worst possible time, at least give it a year to hold on to what you have. Letting him go when we did was stupid.

well I am glad you admitted to the maroon glasses, because they severely hindered you from having a logical stance on Rick Stansbury.

you don't reward a coach for two dumster fire seasons with another season

Maybe, but I see the other half as the illogical ones. He was widely considered one of the top coaches on the SEC. He was the winningest coach we had ever had and kept us in a pretty consistent position to win the West. I'm sorry but we aren't a basketball school, kids don't wake up in the mornings and say "I hope I can play at Mississippi state one day if I work hard enough". We had a good coach, a coach who had built a program and made a name for it and we fired him. Hood was only the second 5 star recruit since he had been here (unless I'm missing one but he and Austin are the only two I remember). Give the guy another year and you at least hold on to that talent along with the rest we would have. Not saying that his time wasn't up, but at least fire him when it makes sense so that we aren't in this shithole.
