Not really any surprises, exactly what everyone expected. Which honestly is probably a good sign. Thoughts?

Deontay Evans
Damien Robinson
Darrion Hutcherson
Hoyett
Holloway
Those 5 guys being on the depth chart is scary AF for any SEC team.
Rankin obviously sucks.
Other than that it looks about right.

I thought Gray might get the punt return job, but I feel good with Fred back there.
The top 6 receivers are a pretty stout group. I think it is the best "group" we have ever had.

Let's see Rufus play before we make the call. I'm not sure that Rankin sucks so much as Hevesey just does a good job of developing guys.
Damien should have been moved to G years ago, doesn't have the feet for tackle and Hevesey seems to like them leaner than he is anyway.
Evans is listed but we all know that McLaurin and/or Peters will probably be in that slot by week 2.
Betting that Adams, Jones, James, and Thomas will be your 4 man at DT.
Just as a reminder, Archie Muniz was the 2 deep at C last year. I would take anything other than the starting lineup as a grain of salt.

Yeah I'm right there with you. But I'm thinking with our offense and Dak getting the ball they are much more concerned with the PR man making good decisions and having sure hands than an explosive return threat.

If Allyn made his side-piece drive a 1993 Chevy Caprice around LA for a year or two before getting her a decent ride because he's anti-entitlement, that'd be Muffin with a depth chart.

LOL. A few years ago I did make one drive her 1998 Chevy Cavalier for 4 months before she got a Caddy. So... good call.

Brandon Bryant will get some looks too i would imagine.
I honestly don't think Market is healthy enough to play safety, we all saw how Whitley, Hughes performed after those type injuries...it took a LOT longer than one offseason. Not to mention he was limited physically to begin with. If he has lost even a half step it's going to be a long season keeping him out there.

so what's been the word on Jake Thomas?

I was hoping to see Gray returning punts as well. I feel good with Ross too but not for actual explosive plays.

Yes, he took a couple to the house at Co-Lin, but he also muffed a few as well.

I wish muffin would release a real depth chart for once.

Market brings a wealth of experience to the position and he looks good to go.

is my main problem with this staff
an experienced bad/average/limited player is still a bad/average/limited player...no amount of experience is going to make up for that. Knowing what to do won't do us any good, if you don't have the talent to make the play when you get there.

Market starting over Brandon Bryant worries me. I don't think that Market is or has ever been a great safety. He is very average. Not saying I don't like the way he plays or him.
I am going to give Kivon a chance and see if he has improved like they are saying. Would be huge.

I think the older players will get the starts and new guys get the reps as per usual throughout games like USM and late in games vs quality teams. But I also think that at some point in the season (probably around aTm) it will be very apparent that some of the new players (Bryant, Peters,...) are a MUST start. I too would like for Coman to be what they say and allow us to RS some but Kivon's gonna have to show me the money on that one.
