#12 is easy to screw up.
I have a midslim 2.0 like Hop. I really like it and it didn't take too much feel away from my stroke. But like you said, I'm a shoulder turn guy. I don't break my wrist. It's worth it to try I think. I've always been a pretty good putter but the superstroke really helped me drain more inside 10 feet.

Yeah me too, that's why I figured it would be a solid investment.

I think so. Any time you can improve your putter for less than a cost of a round, I'm for it. They'll install it for free if you buy it up at the MSU course.
You should check out the golf thread on the MSB. Lot's of shooting the breeze, but a lot of golf talk too.

I didn't know there was such a thing as a shoulder turn guy and a wrist guy. I just thought it was the guy who knows how to putt and the guy that doesn't.

That's pretty much how I read it too. People that break their wrists aren't normally good putters but I suck at it so I wouldn't really be a good one to talk anyway.

I love my smaller, chorded, putter grip; however, my dad swapped to an oversized and it has made a tremendous difference in his putting game. Putting is one of those things that comes down to repetition and practice, I played 6 years of high school golf and in that time spent more time that I would like to think about working on putting. So, seeing such a relatively easy change help his game so much was pretty impressive.

I have a little 7 foot putting mat in my extra bedroom. I just go in and work on my putting. Don't even pay attention if I make it. Just work on my form.
I can read breaks in greens with the best of them. Pace is what kills me sometimes. It's very rare that I misread a putt, but not so rare that I blow it past the hole.

Yeah, getting to the course and spending time putting before a round is something we all neglect and it is absolutely huge. Think about all the strokes lost on those first 6 holes we spend "getting a feel for the greens".
I don't know if they still make them but the pro at Old Waverly partnered in designing "The Putting Arc". If you spend a lot of time mat putting you would love it and they are pretty cheap.

Did you catch Azinger's putting special? I liked some of the stuff he was saying.

I've seen it before. Might grab one or some sort of training aid if this weather keeps up.

I haven't seen it. I like finding drills to work on for putting. When I start thinking too much about my mechanics and trying to switch them to something I heard, then it goes bad. Putting is just such a personal thing.

Its just nice because you don't really have to worry about form. You just putt and drink a beer/watch TV. And yeah I feel your pain, I'm in Starkville so its either freezing arse cold or raining every day.

I'm here too. Grad school.
I shoulda played yesterday when I had the chance, but stayed up way too late Sunday night and was too tired to move.

Then you need to go watch it ASAP. He actually talks about this very thing and how he's not real big on drills. He takes a very cognitive approach to it. It's a bit philosophical which I like. He talks about visualization a lot too. Look it up.

Visualizing has helped me a lot. Do you use the lines on the ball to line up your putt? I'm lost if I don't do that, unless its a really long putt.
What was it called?

I used to but found that I concentrated too much on that damn line instead of "feeling" my way through it. I may try to revisit that this year though.
I'll have to look. I have it on my DVR at home. I want to say it's part of the Academy series.

I'll see if I can find it online. I'm a no cable guy.

I salute you. I would be too if it weren't for my wife's obsession with all things E! and Bravo.

frick, you ain't lyin. I'd say that's probably the most frustrating part to me.

A friend of mine kinda turned me on toward this last summer, but recently I find myself in the same situation has beHop. I focus way too much on the lines and not the actual putt.

For some reason, I also read putts better when I'm standing over the putt at address. So lining up my putt helps me make adjustments from my original line when I address the ball.
So say I have my ball lined up for 1.5 cups to the right, but when I stand over I read it as only 1.25 or 1 cup to the right, I can use the line on the ball to make that adjustment without resetting my ball or stepping away.
So I don't always putt straight down the line I set, if that makes sense.
