Tate Reeves sent me a reminder to Vote for MState Grad Bill Waller, Jr.,
Tuesday, August 27th.

Brigadier General in the Mississippi Army Nat'l Guard, Former Chief Justice of the Mississippi Supreme Court.

I served with him in the Guard, later ran into him while he was Chief Justice. He was humble about being a General Officer.

Didn't know, so I had to call another Guardsman to ask.

Tater tweeted out today that his plan for MS was to support Donald Trump while Wallers plan was to focus on State issues.

That was his own words

How big of a dumbass is Tater? My God.

Either Waller or Hood has my vote over that clown.

Agree with you. Reeves has the better than thou attitude and his arrogance just rubs me the wrong way.

So yep , I will vote Waller and if he loses I will vote for Hood. Hood is basically a Republican who still wears a D hat but that is what he started as and I can understand his reluctance to change parties.

Waller is a Rhino... he supports Jim hood.. enough said. He wants to raise our taxes for better roads, expand welfare for our state (cause that really motivated the ones on it).. sounds good in theory but remember only 25% of us will be paying that tax and that doesn’t split well. That alone makes it hard to vote for him.. but I’m open to reasons why to vote for him.. but NOT HOOD

You would vote for Hood who has backing and ties to California and Soros? Then you are a democrat.. Hood believes in more taxes and more welfare.. also wants to expand Obamacare.. and get ready for gun control.. if Hood wins it would give me finally a good reason to leave Mississippi and take my business with it. I refuse to be brought down with the rest of the leaches in our state by taxes. I don’t mind helping which our pay checks show that we do and I pay more owning a successful business, but you won’t tax me poor. You wanna see Rankin and Madison turn into Hinds? Vote Hood.. the 100k and above tax bracket will leave for nicer areas and take our businesses with us. Mountain Brook would look a lot better. Hood would be for the minority and poor only.. he would shite on the middle class. We would be taxed to hell and back. Might as well be a vote for Stokes. Let us not forget that Hood said he understood where stokes comments came from on throwing rocks at cop cars.. you want Mississippi to be Memphis?? Alabama and Louisiana are still trying to recover from that mistake of a democrat that people said were more republican.

Gun control alone should stand out for us in Mississippi. Jim Hood spoke against a Castle Doctrine bill that allows Mississippians to defend themselves in their own homes. He said, “It was perhaps testosterone-induced law…”

and you think the arrogant Reeves is any better? He acts like a spoiled, entitled child.
He acts like he is supposed to be Governor just because he has been the Treasurer, Lieutenant Governor and that everybody is supposed to bow down to his highness.
Losing an election would be a good RX for him.
Then he might learn some humility and if he were to run again, may be he would learn that he works for the voters not the other way around.

I think we get to pick between a shite sandwich and bad of douche.. lol but didn’t we get the same pick for the last presidential election? I will go with who’s policies better fit the values of a RED southern state. I look closely at taxes, welfare aid, gun control, religion and immigration. Reason I decided to vote for Trump.. wasn’t my first choice but it was my best available. I need Waller to answer some of the comments where he wants to raise taxes, expand welfare and such. But if he wins I will still vote for him over Hood. I would vote for just about anyone over Hood. I will be damned if Mississippi turns into a liberal state and we have to get force fed that crap. All the moral values of our state would be overturned. You think Hood would let us open carry, or back the castle law? We might not even have guns..and we damn sure wouldn’t have armed officers in our schools. He already spoke out on that issue. How about Abortion? Ready for the pink building to get back up and cranking? You think we would have had the raids by ice to clear illegals if Hood ran the show? We would get a damn good taste of California and it would be ugly. No matter who wins.. I’m voting Waller or Tate vs Hood.

LMAO. You're definitely one of the ones hypnotized by the right that "democrat bad Republicans gooood". The values of Hood would produce some quality change that Mississippi so desperately needs such as changing the state flag, supporting rural hospitals, cutting sales tax.

Funny all of the MS Republicans love to support this so called immigration reform and are 100% behind these corporations that hire the so called "illegal aliens" you guys so desperately want to leave.

Starkville just increased it's sales tax from 7% to 10% so I'd be glad for Hood to step in on this issue.

Again I will repeat. This is a statewide election not a national election. We don't need the same governor Alabama needs and vice versa. We are our own State. And whatever happens in DC has 0 bearing on MS. So as I said about Reeves who is relying only on his "supporting Trump" as his main platform, many Mississippians will fall for his schtick. I hope no one here does.

And as I said before if Waller wins I'll be happy as well. I like his father as governor.

Why does it need changing again?

supporting rural hospitals

He supported Obamacare which hurt rural hospitals. I know from experience.......

Odd why did the ICE raid 380 people working at these corporations?

But my corporations are good.

The governor of Mississippi should have no concern for matters of anything that isn't Mississippi. He should be putting Mississippi... You know.. MISSISSIPPIANS first.

Too many of these Republican sleezeballs kiss arse to the DC Republicans and that's all Tatertot will be.

We haven't enjoyed a good Mississippi governor in years who is willing to do so...

I did not say that I liked Hood or wanted him to win. It is just that Reeves is nauseating.
Waller seems to be good middle of the road candidate.
I agree that taxes are already high enough with one possible exception.
A combination of different taxes directly related to roads/bridges can be increased some as our infrastructure sorely needs an injection of work before it gets to an impossible situation.

1- They are here illegally and it drives down the wages of the poorest among us.

2- It instantly created 380 jobs for Mississippians. The first job fair after that resulted in over 150 Citizens of Ms applying for the jobs at a higher rate of pay too. MS is ranked 49th in the US in unemployment with 5.1% of the population without jobs. That's roughly 152K people.

3- ICE has ZERO to do with the state, it's a federal agency.

You stated that Republicans are 100% behind these corps that hire illegal immigrants. I stated no they are not. Your response was "why did Ice raid them then"???

I think alot of RHINOs were a problem. A lot of them are now gone because the people got rid of them.

Also, Alabama has an unemployment rate of 3.3% and ranked 16th in the nation. MS is ranked 49th at 5.1% Maybe a Alabama type Gov is what Ms needs.

I don't like it when out of state Republicans try to tell Mississippians what to do.

That's why we're stuck with Phil Bryant and could be stuck with Tate Reeves.

We are all tired of these pathetic policies keeping MS last in the most important categories of health, employment, and opportunity. And we want to see something different.

Which is why as I said before that Waller or Hood would do that.

But that just triggers the Always Trumpers when they can't get out of their heads that Mississippi is its own State with its own issues separate like any other State has.

ETA this isn't a national election so I have no clue why people from any other State care about what happens in this state. I could care less who the governor of North Dakota is.

No. Have many friends and some family there.

I'm bama first, but yes I am a fan of Ms St and of what they accomplished. I will be on the 50 when Bama is there with a very close friend who is a state guy.

In sports? Love most sports. I even like performing arts.... and if you have ever seen them train..... you would understand.

Life? Love it. Even in the bad times. I come from nothing and watched my father walk to work and we lived with no electricity and running water during the hard time.

Politics? I am pro America. And the label really doesn't matter to me. Take care of our house before taking care of another. I don't like sell out politicians on either side. 2 examples.... Amash on the GOP, Biden on the dems.

I'm not sure of what you are wanting to know exactly, but.....

Except for somethings are universal.

- illegal immigration takes jobs away from legal citizens in every state.

- Illegal immigration hurts the poorest citizens in any state.

- Tell Ingalls that the Governorship doesn't matter.

- Tell that to the military bases and the towns they are in and who fought to keep them open.

Like I said, somethings matter to everybody.
