Edited to add Brett Elliott as QB coach and D.J. Looney as TE/OT coach. Finally, maybe some help on the o-line.

Sounds like he has some fire about him. We need some of that.

He served as San Jose State’s defensive coordinator this past season. English was head coach at Eastern Michigan from December 2008 until November 2013, when he was fired after a recording of his profanity-laced rant toward players became public.

Before his stint at Eastern Michigan, English was the defensive coordinator at Louisville in 2008 and Michigan from 2006-07. During his time at Michigan, English was regarded as one of the top defensive assistants in college football. In 2006, Rivals.com named him its National Defensive Coordinator of the Year and one of the nation’s top-25 college recruiters. English's unit in 2007 at Michigan finished eighth in the nation in pass defense and 17th in pass efficiency defense. English was Michigan’s defensive backs coach from 2003-05.

What has he done lately tho? Meh hire for me. I hope he proves me wrong but I am not excited about this hire just like I was for Lindquist.

I'm optimistic; remember thinking "this coach has the fire in his belly", back in the day.

"Zenmaster sez, we'll see."

Hmmm... was he fired because of the rant or because it became public? I am going with the latter.

I was on the receiving end of a few when I was in college. They were very inspirational talks. I was inspired to keep those to a minimum.

Glad you're a gooddamn clairvoyant otherwise I would have doubts. Sliced bread is better than linguist which is my point.
