My trip went very well. The school has beautiful facilities and its got a great location. Being able to jog on the river after a long day would be awesome. I'd be going to UM for real cheap and it's a ticket out of the economic toilet bowl that Louisiana is fast becoming so it's a good deal all around.
It seemed like the folk I talked to pushed for living downtown but I preferred the area around Overton Square(Midtown?), and it seemed like housing was pretty cheap a few blocks off Madison. I'd rather commute 10-15 minutes and walk to bars and restaurants than live next to the school
It would be cool to live near the law school but I don't want to live in an expensive high rise apartment and worry about parking fees, crime, etc.
Also Gus' Chicken and Wise Acre beer

Glad it went well and it seems that you have made some good observations. Also, the gus' that they opened up in Oxford is terrible compared to the Memphis locations

Yeah I live like 5 min east of the square.

Tiny bomb was just named the 70th best beer in the world. Not bad for a brewery that's been open for less than 5 years.

Had the Tiny Bomb and Ananda IPA both were pretty good.

They have a double ipa that is either already out or about to be as well.

They tried to open one in Nashville. It's now a zaxby's.
