You have no idea how touchy these frickers are. I started a thread on the OM board about a comment made on an OM radio show where the host, when naming sponsors said, "and remember Clarke Bottling Group reminds you not to drink and drive, but if you do, do it responsibly."

Then at the end I threw in a "congrats on the investigation" for a good chuckle. Well now I'm confused as to which statement rustled their jimmies.

BTW banning me for that just shows how thin their OM skin is. They need to grow a pair and learn to take shite that they dish out. Plenty of their posters have come over here mouthing off and haven't gotten run off. If I was looking to flame I would've posted it to SECr and not the OM Spirit.

eta: they actually tried defending the radio host's comment by saying drinking and driving responsibly means keeping it under .08
They were too stupid to realize drinking and driving, no matter what your BAC is, is irresponsible.

Even though I'm pretty sure it's against NCAA regulation for recruits to take recording devices on visits. I could be wrong though.

Kids are allowed to have cell phones on visits- they record, video, and all kinds of shite

Don't break the rules and it shouldn't matter if you had a film crew follow you around. It's pretty plain and simple. The drug dealers don't want the drug dogs hanging around their house because they have shite to hide.

I'm not saying we didn't do something shady to get these recruits. Every program, including State, does shady stuff to get recruits.

If you are willing to admit it then why do OM fans want to get all bitchy when they get called out on it? Take your medicine and move on. Y'all are acting like a criminal that gets mad at the cops because he got caught. No dumbass, be mad at yourself for breaking the damn law.

Have we been caught? It's bullshite that we are being called out when we're just doing what every other program in the conference does.

You could say this to literally every program in the country. Don't act like State's hands aren't dirty.

Well I am again saying to om fans. This is not routine.

I dont remember anything special with Dodsons recruitment. I dont think msu was ever in the picture. I do know they are inquiring about it.

next is why are they going all the way back to cj's recruitment?

All of this leads me to think that mr x is right. You may have a rogue booster...

I have never said they aren't. I simply don't get all bent outta shape if we get caught with our hands in the cookie jar. I understand when you play with fire you're gonna get burned every now and then. The longer you play with fire, though, the better you get at not getting burned.

I did hear on Head to Head today that a beat writer said this investigation involves more than just Chris Jones' recruitment. As in there are other student athletes involved.

Y'all need to get rid of your compliance director. He's the worst one in the country because he's the best at doing his job.

Wouldn't surprise me if they were talking to more than one kid. But I still don't think there would be any evidence. No booster or school is going to leave a paper trail that could be picked up by the NCAA. Not a smart one anyway

But his name, Bracky Brett, it's so catchy.

I agree. Every other compliance director in the country has their heads up their arse but we hire fricking Columbo.

True but if a recruit kept record of it that would be enough evidence to damn them.

True. But what recruit is going to do that? If I were going to pay a recruit I'd say, "As soon as your LOI is faxed to our coaches, (x) amount of dollars will be put into your account."

I'll say this as I did earlier today:

Jones and Mullen had a great relationship all along. Jones said he was going to visit OM-Mullen told him to let him know what all OM threw at him. When Jones got back from his visit- he spent over an hour visiting with State coaches about his visit. I said that then- and I'm saying it now. Jones told them everything.

Now then, I'm not saying Jones is telling the NCAA the same story- I have no idea what he is going to tell/has told them.

And Jones is not even close to the only one being interviewed. There is supposedly a long arse list of people being talked to. I heard 7 schools turned OM in last November alone- that comes from someone as credible as you will find.

We'll see what happens.

One that knew all along what he was doing.

That in and of itself is a major violation.

People turn in and claim Alabama is cheating in recruiting all the time. If there isn't a paper trail or any hard evidence to support their claims then the NCAA won't do anything. Which is what I'm claiming is most likely to happen.
