I miss the Alabama Basketball Rivalry

Our basketball rival is Alabama. This generation of MSU fans are obsessed with making Ole Miss the main rival in every sport. Including sports where they are historically the worst.
Sure the peak of it was Gottfried vs Stansbury. Such classics. When the SEC announced State and Bama would play twice a year once again in 2016, I was thrilled. And 2016 lived up with a split. Howland vs Avery looked like a masterpiece. But Avery swept Howland 3 times last year. And it just does not feel like Howland or the team considers this a Rivalry game.
The two closest SEC schools are rivals in this sport and Howland needs to realize that losing to Alabama is more unacceptable than losing to Ole Miss. State has lost 8 of the last 9 since Stansbury left. I'm tired of losing to this group. And a win is needed for postseason hopes. We're 6 point underdogs. And it just feels like we don't care. If this doesn't work out, we need a coach that understands that Alabama is rival #1.

Screw Scott Stricklin. He ruined MSU Basketball. But our fans were dumb back then as well.
I'm done with Howland. That was pathetic. We were trailing by 20 at some point. Didn't give a flip most of the game. I don't get it. At all.

We pay Howland like triple Ray's salary for this shitestorm. I'm pissed off.
And he says Stapleton was just a one game suspension. Just get rid of him if he's this much of an issue off the court. This team isn't good enough to have a liability.

Because it's our next game and I need to see the emphasis of this game once again. Big home game. Gotta win. Going on the road two straight and none of those are garunteed with this team. Bama has owned us since we got rid of Stansbury. Gotta hold sever at home and get a much needed win. Have we turned a corner? I'll be fully 100% on board with a win on Tuesday. Let's get it!

It's been 6 long years since I've seen the Bulldogs beat Alabama here in Starkville. Wow! I'm super pumped!!!

Didn't get to watch it due to being fed up with Directv jacking up my bill every time I turn around, but I listened on the radio. First, it sounded like the State/Bama games of old, tough, physical defense.
Second, with all the crappy commentators on TV these days, Neil Price and Richard Williams were a refreshing change of pace. I loved listening to the old coach provide his analysis of the game.

Was at the game! And while there were not many of us, we were loud and proud. We took our passion from the previous night and brought it Tuesday Night. And that was the difference. Best atmosphere we have had all year. Numbers do not always mean great atmosphere. Just look at our Georgia game. We had more people but it was a terrible atmosphere. It was a great win. And I think this is the juice our basketball rivalry needed. Our next Home Game is Ole Miss. The team needs a big crowd to win these next few games! I think less than a thousand tickets remain so we should sellout! I am on board. NCAA Bubble and solid NIT Team is what this program needed.
