Joe Moorhead won’t coach in Penn State’s bowl game this season, Mississippi State Athletic Director John Cohen said this afternoon, according to Mississippi State football beat reporter Will Sammon

He won’t coach in Mississippi State’s bowl game either. However, he’ll be at the Mississippi State bowl game, and will be “observing players during practice” between now and then.

Moorhead flew out of the University Park airport today headed for Starksville, where he’ll replace Dan Mullen as head coach.

"I informed the team this afternoon that running backs coach and special teams coordinator Greg Knox will serve as the interim head coach for our bowl game. Greg has coached in the Southeastern Conference for over 20 years. We are excited about playing in our school-record eighth consecutive bowl game against a quality opponent. Our senior class has a chance to tie the 2015 and 1942 teams as the winningest senior class in Mississippi State history."

Was gonna be Knox, but Moorhead just hired a new RB coach so I don't even know anymore.

I am pretty sure that I will go to the Gator Bowl, but I am not going to expect much. It will have a Spring Game feel to it for me. I want to see what KT can do after getting a few weeks worth of first team reps.
I am afraid that L'ville will be able to go where they want when they want without us having a real DC in place.
I know Moorhead is going to keep his hands off, but I bet he is itching to do something with the team. However, with coaches headed to UF after the game, I imagine that he doesn't want them to see anything with us playing UF next year.

I believe Freeze could coach since it's not a conference game.
Does State have 5 coaches available for the game, including the lame-duck?

David H Murray:
This isn't any official State listing yet but here's most of whom was working with the position groups Saturday morning during the very brief open period media were allowed to watch:
Head coach Greg Knox
Tight ends/Offensive line D.J. Looney
Quarterbacks Brett Elliott
Running backs John White
Wide receivers Bret Beachner
Defensive line Brian Baker
Linebackers Christian Robinson
Safeties Ron English
Cornerbacks Terrell Buckley
Defense asst John Haneline (looked like d-ends was his focus)
