I'm with you on this one Req...

I never heard anything either way about Bench, but one thing I kept going back to was that any guy willing to give up a chance at the major leagues in order to get more guaranteed PT in the minors -- in a rebranded C-USA -- probably didn't have the mental make-up to succeed in the SEC in the first place.

Either way, we'll be in a better position QB-wise next year than we were last year with Williams certainly being there -- and certainly being capable of running the read option effectively in case of emergency. If Golden comes back or Sandberg makes it, I'll rest pretty easy on matters, even if I would still prefer to have one more QB on roster. Maybe there will be one worth looking at in the JUCO system this year?

He probably read where y'all said earlier in this thread that he would sit the bench behind Dak his whole career and said frick that.

True. I'm always mindful of that possibility and wish more MSU fans were as well. Not saying it makes a damn difference and 99 times out of 100 it probably doesn't, but I try to keep it at "we need him, we've only got 2 scholarship QBs" type of statements and worry about the other stuff after they actually sign...

I know if I was being recruited like these kids are, where everyone you meet representing all these different schools IRL are kissing your arse and telling you whatever you want to hear(knowing the vast majority of it was total bullshite), I'd be pretty tempted to check stuff out online to see "what they were saying behind my back" to try to get a true picture of what fanbases thought about me. Not saying all -- or even hardly any of them think like I do -- but it still crosses my mind when discussing these kids.

Of course, we've had a few of them that signed up for google notifications and got push msgs everytime they were mentioned online...so there's that. Will never forget Jason Croom's mom showing up on SPS basically cussing everyone after he committed to Tennessee

Maybe one day if Shump is in the NFL, you can point to him on the TV, and say to your kid..."Daddy cussed that guy's dad out on the internet."
