I watched the Tupelo sports this morning. He is being moved to safety. He was an end/RB last year. Tupelo lost both safeties to graduation, so he is being moved over there. The coach said he would be a good fit on D because he has good size, has good speed, and likes to hit people.

I may be a little late here, but it seems that Jason Carr is transferring from Tennessee.

Isn't this the same kid that played with Donald Grey in high school that we were in with until the end? Could we get him to transfer to Co-Lin and sign with us with Grey? Would be pretty awesome...

Demond Tucker

quote:

He added Texas A&M and MSU continue to be his favorites (neither have given commitable offers yet) and he said MSU assistant David Turner and head coach Dan Mullen both told him they are very interested in his talents. He said he believes MSU is just waiting a bit longer before extending an offer, which would be huge for him. He said people doubting him because of his size only motivates him to do even better this season. Tucker said being productive is more about having good strength and good technique.

Yep thats him. He randomly got 4 Crystal Balls to Ole Miss on 247 but doesn't have them in his top 2.

We offered an OT/TE out of Tennessee in Harrison Moon. He's very good friends with Nick Tiano. The two have said they want to play college ball together.

Interview with Amonte Caban (6'2 210lb OLB):

-Has gotten a dozen or so recent offers, but doesn't have one from in state schools Alabama or Auburn yet

-Recently visited Alabama. Kirby Smart gave him some attention and he liked that. He told Caban to come back and compete at camp. Caban plans on doing so

-Cincy, UK, South Alabama, and Clemson have all checked in on him recently. All have offered

-He's had interest in Kentucky and USCe for a while... Other schools just now coming into the picture

-He doesn't have a top group or anything at this point

-Doesn't plan on deciding in the near future

Since collecting his MSU offer in February, Caban has put the Bulldogs at the top of his favorites' list and that remains the same on April 29.

quote:

"I still like Mississippi State a lot and they are still on top," said Caban. "I am also liking Kentucky, South Carolina, Louisville, Florida and UAB. Mississippi State really reminds me of where I am from. Starkville is not a big town and I am not from a big town, either. I am really comfortable there and the players are really cool and make me feel comfortable.

quote:

"My relationship with Coach (Geoff) Collins is steadily increasing, too, and he is coming by this spring. He told me they just want to find guys that can play and that his best guys always play no matter what year they are - seniors or freshmen."

quote:

"It is still my plans to do it before my senior season," said Caban. "I just want to see where I feel the most comfortable, look at education and the school, in general. I want to see my opportunities to get on the field soon and my relationship with the players and coaches. Those are really the biggest things. I am going to talk with my mom, my brother and my mentor and just find the right fit for me."

Offering Olinemen and getting them committed are obviously two different things. But the Oline board (those showing high interest in MSU, that is) is tons better right now than it was last year. Obviously the key is getting them committed. For now, those with MSU as their favorite or in the Top 2 or even include:

Jamal Danley
Tommy Champion
Grant Polk
Lowell Furlow
Chandler Jones
Kenny Thomas.
