You see him having a year like Graveman and Girodo last year?
I think if he comes back he could have a much better year than Graveman. He's just so sporadic. He just needs consistency. He's shown that he can go out and be dominant, he just needs to do it regularly. He goes out and has a great 4-6? innings against LSU and then shits the bed the next week on his Sunday start.

On the other hand, Evan Mitchell never stepped foot on the mound, projects better, left as a junior, and got couple 100k
That's what makes it all so perplexing to me..

Maybe Woodruff will just see the rotation next year as already set with Fitts/Mitchell/Brown.

When you are that talented and have the ability to go early, you can still get what you are worth as a SR. Mark Appel is an example that comes to mind -- albeit on a no-doubt elite tier that Woodruff isn't on...
If he came back and was "who he can be" -- he could still get paid. If he's the same guy he's shown this year -- he would get nothing though.

If he comes back and performs non-conference like he's supposed to... He will easily take a start from Fitts or Brown.
Stratton appeared in 4 games in relief before starting his first game of the year against LSU.

As far as not being worth anything to an MLB club, I couldn't disagree more. He's had several outings of 3+ innings pitched and done very well in them I might add, on top of being a pretty good closer.
He'll need to develop a third pitch in the minors or he will get shelled

No he wouldn't. He would get more money this year as a 13th round pick than he would next year as a 3rd round pick.

Appel signed for 18% below his slot value, and he was the #1 overall pick. Just imagine how MLB teams screw a middle of the pack 6th round senior

Maybe...a lot of variables with Woodruff. The only two I am 100% sure we will never see again or ever in an MSU uniform are Vallot and Lindgren.

Good point.

I'm tired of hearing people talk about how much this kid will help the team next year. Unless your team is the Idaho Falls Chukars, then Vallot isn't going to help

Well, they are correct that he would help the team.

He would help no doubt, but so would Mike Trout.

Ok so I've heard the name thrown around a little bit but who is this kid exactly?
ETA: Oh wow. Looks legit.

Don't be shocked if he comes to State if he doesn't get the type of money he is asking for. It happens every year at Vandy and Florida.

He's been developing and throwing a cutter a bit. No idea how much he's shown it in games so far, but it seems to be a promising pitch for him in the future...

Yeah -- and Vallot is almost unanimously in the top 50 overall prospect lists now...
I was holding out hope until he made the mlb.com list. I'll be very surprised to see him make it to school now. Tied for 6th nationally(maxpreps) in bombs after finishing inside the top 10 last year. Probably one of the 5 best overall power hitters in the high school ranks -- and had the 2nd best arm out of the catcher's box that PG documented last year(89mph)...

Hopefully Cohen can sign a stud at catcher late. He has a knack for picking up someone out of the blue that plays position of need.
I realize Collins is a true freshman, and he will get better behind the plate, but he has been pretty awful defensively.
I don't have a lot of faith in Walker and Randolph. I also can't imagine how bad Garner is back there if he hasn't even been given a chance.
