Sherrod did not redshirt. He played his freshmen year, and then he played his sophomore year, then he played his Junior year and was good. He had 2 years of playing experience under his belt and was good the 3rd year.
Your LT and RT are sophomores and have 1 season of experience as backups. This year for them is not equivalent to Sherrod's 3rd year.
And Sherrod sucked for 2 years. So, basically, you think an OL will only be good after 20+ starts...that is what you are saying right? Tobias Smith should really suck with his 4 career starts then...
You think experience is more important, and I think age and physical/mental maturity are more important. The number of repetitions is important...but 95% of those happen in practice anyway. Clausell gained 25lb and went up over 100lbs in squat max since he played last season. That's a big arse difference.
By your reasoning, Pierce Burton is a huge question mark right? He was rated basically identical to Siddoway coming out of JUCO.

It would probably just be easier to call it "our greatest concern" and then perhaps we could all agree.
Well-termed
It's our greatest concern, along with Russell's health, and the kicking game/special teams...

You don't have to be starting to gain in game experience. You seriously don't think players get better from actually having experience in real games??

Repetitions in practice help, but practice is nothing like actual game experience. If you don't understand that then you've obviously never played football

Any Juco is a huge question mark until you actually see them out on the field in a game, there's a big difference in juco and the SEC.
and by your reasoning my dad would be a badass SEC LT because he's older and strong.

Which is exactly what you've been arguing against this whole time. This is what I've been saying all along. We've got some experience in 4 of the 5 spots. Clausell took 50% of the snaps last season at LT. Day took almost every snap at C from the first quarter of Game3(Tobias Smith's injury against LSU) until the end of the season. Jackson and Smith are upperclassmen that have experience. Right tackle is the only position where we're actually inexperienced, but as I pointed out, we are talented there as well.

Sure they do. Where did I say otherwise? Our starters will be better by the end of the season than they are in the beginning. Then we will be one of the most experienced OL in the SEC next season.
You are trying to twist this into me saying "experience doesn't matter." I didn't say that. I simply said that practice, weight training, and maturity on the OL are FAR MORE important than game experience in a player's first 2 years on campus. I do NOT want ANY OL stepping on the field there until they are at least rsSO. If they are, that means we really screwed up in recruiting along the way.
By your reasoning, you should have had one of the best OL in the country last year. After all, it was VERY experienced...

I'm done with it now until games are played. Said my part. Can't prove that I'm right until then anyway...
