Bingo.
Kid has a HUGE frame, and comes from a basketball background and I think by the time he is a RS Soph he will be a 6'6" 300 lb run stopping DT.
His teammate Trent Simpson is also impressive on film and I think we got a steal in him. Even though he is rated lower than Jones, I think he is the better player today.

You put way to much stock in to recruiting rankings in August.
Also, if our recruiting sucks then what is yours?

Not really much of a difference between the two at the moment.
Once Myke Tavarres gets his ranking on 247 our Avg will be higher than yours.
If we just had 4 more 3*'s alone commit to us to give us an even number of commits with State then we would be even or pass you in total points.
I would probably wait until February before I started saying other classes suck.
I still remember when you were bragging on State's class two years ago in November saying it was way better than OM's and Arkansas' and we both passed you by in January. That may not happen again this year but I would have thought that you would have learned your lesson by now.

Its like you magically forget we are recruiting with an interim staff at the moment. Our past record goes out the window when all you can sell is the hog on the helmet.

All that and they still can't even tell the kid what kind of offense or defense we are going to run next year or if their position coach will be around. Those things tend to be a little more important to most kids than just being in the SEC alone.

Are you blazed out of your mind right now? Arkansas is recruiting with a very questionable interim coach that will almost assuredly only be there one year, and this is coming off one of the most embarrassing coaching scandals in recent memory. That seems like a pretty good excuse.

I would much rather have a guy at DT who might be on the shorter side and has an explosive first step than a 6'6 250 guy with a "basketball background". I mean....think about it.
Also, guys like Peria Jerry, Teddy Laurent, and Lawon Scott where all around 6' when they got to campus and last I check they were pretty damn good. Al you forget these 17 yr old kids are still growing.
But hey, if you would rather have Jones than the #1 juco DT in the nation who has 20 offers, be my guest.

I have been following recruiting for three years. It just gets a little worse every year. I mean I login to two sites in the morning and that's about the extent of it. And I don't really start my work week until about 1:00 on Mondays, soooo......
