Looks like we are trying to flip this guy from Auburn. He's now officially coming for an OV this weekend, and we may have a pretty good chance of getting him. NO IDEA how this may/may not effect our recruitments of O'Korn/Dobbs...Was Alabama MVP in the MS/ALA all-star game at the WR position...

Jason Smith

In a way, I could REALLY like this pick up -- because I feel better about actually getting Sandberg than most here. This pickup would protect us at the QB position if Sandberg doesn't make it to campus -- while not completely wasting a scholarship on someone else at the position(who would likely be an early transfer) if he does make it. With this guy, you just move him to WR and keep on trucking...

How would this effect O'Korn? Isn't this guy a WR?

Brian Hadad(HD6) on SPS reporting that O'Korn got his offer today... so it looks like the Dobbs ship has sailed...

Will know directly if he's visiting today...

I like where we're going with this. I preferred O'Korn to Dobbs in the first place...

If we could pull Jason Smith as well, it will be a total coup in this class...

I agree...but Dobbs would not be a bad "consolation prize"

I posted yesterday but many coogs feel O'korn is solid to them. Of course I hope they're wrong.

He was solid when he got his Syracuse offer -- Let's see how solid he is with an SEC offer. O'Korn has seemed to be holding out for this offer, we just had to let the Dobbs' situation play out first. We will know soon enough.

Let's hope he was holding out for this offer. If he is not willing to flip and Cord goes MLB then we are hosed. We can sign somebody to sign somebody but I don't see another QB prospect on our radar that's SEC quality. I have long been saying that Dobbs and O'Korn should have both had a commitable offer on the table and whoever bit first got it. We wasted weeks on Dobbs who apparently never had any intentions of coming with us.

if we can not pull a guy from houston, a qb depth is the least of our concerns.

Look up a few posts.

Jason Smith is OVing this weekend. He's a great additional option at the QB position if we can pull him from Auburn(he's committed to them as a WR, but he really wants to play QB at the next level).

Besides the fact that he's much more a WR than a QB, he is probably less likely to flip than even O'Korn. The real sad thing is back in the summer and early part of the football season we likely could have gotten Dobbs or O'Korn to come onboard with us but were intent on only signing Sandberg. Though granted at that time O'Korn wasn't much of a known quantity.
