I think T-Man has potential

no one denies that. there's a million potential guys out there. we are tired of them.

I can't think of a really bad player that we have bit on and signed in the last 4 years so I'll trust them. Also Rosebowl says we are still doing good with Rumph and apparently he has a great relationship with Brewster.

For those of you worried about Holmes someone posted this quote on another site. Walter Denton is his former coach. I found this as well as checking out film on him pretty intriguing. Keep in mind that this guy coached him and Jameon Lewis at Tylertown, if the kid is that much faster than Jameon I'm excited.
quote:
Walter Denton has told me that "he is as fast as he needs to be. When he gets to Mississippi State, there won't be anyone on the team who can outrun him. You want speed, let me introduce you to a young man who can fly."

2* guys that were undoubtably bitched about on here, but are now major contributors for us:
Justin Malone
Preston Smith
Benardick McKinney
Dillon Day
Jamerson Love
Blaine Clausell
Malcolm Johnson
Jameon Lewis
Darius Slay(highschool)
Shane McCardell
Corey Broomfield
It is ridiculous to not trust our coaches at this point when they take a 2* early. They have consistently PROVEN to have an eye for talent, particularly underrated talent.

The thing of it is though, we could have taken this guy a week before signing day, and all of those guys (Jameon excluded) had a good frame to work with. This guy is basically Jameon Lewis, and we basically took another Jameon Lewis last year in Brandon Holloway.

1 slot receiver per class. What is the problem?
Why wait to offer a guy if you WANT him to be a Bulldog? Why would we wait if he was a preference to our coaches(obviously he was)? The flaw here is assuming that because he isn't highly rated by a "crootin expert" that he isn't highly rated by our coaches.

I'll take offer list for $1,000, Alex.

So an offer list is how our coaches evaluate and rate players now? Houston Nutt FTW!!! Our coaches know what they are doing. We are chock full of no offer 2* high schoolers that will play in the NFL. How about we wait to question it when more of those players start actually being busts?
I can only imagine the meltdown that commenced on here when we accepted 2* no offer Benardrick McKinney's commitment. You know, the 2* that is now the best freshman linebacker in the SEC? The one that is #2 in tackles among freshman LBs in the country?

Can't argue the logistics of what I'm saying, so you bring a hollow insult. Good one...
You are the one bitching about a kid you have never seen play simply because of the number of stars beside his name. Why? Because it hurts our chance at a 'crootin championship? And I'm the one that belongs at GP?
Get real.

How do you know that I haven't see this kid play? Also, how does this kid not even garner an offer from Southern Miss when he lives about 45 minutes from campus? You have to take off your maroon colored glasses and ask yourself why a kid only has a SWAC offer besides us.

I know because you are still bitching about him...When he is so similar to Jameon Lewis coming out of highschool, it would blow your mind if you actually watched both.
It's also pretty obvious when the biggest stargazer of us all, Bundy, even knows this guy has potential to be a bigtime player for us.

I give you Benardrick McKinney, arguably the best freshman linebacker in the country, and in the top 3 without question... a 2* athlete from Tunica with ZERO offers on any level other than State.

Why did everyone else pass on one of the best linebackers in the country? Reranking that class, McKinney is somewhere between a high 4* and low 5*. How did everyone else miss?
There are countless other examples that I have already given in this thread... Until our staff actually misses on a few of these "wtf" guys, I am going to trust their decisions.

When it comes down to it there is a lot of talent in MS that never even gets evaluated, especially if you are from a small school. Also, Ole Miss was visiting and talking with Holmes a few weeks ago, the kid has literally been Walton on a MSU offer and when Hughes finally got there to watch him play he offered him on the spot. Stop questioning it he is a kid we want here and everyone will know his name in 2 years.

For #MSAL HS all-star game. MT @JTalty: Commit breakdown of Mississippi roster: 1 Ole miss commit, 3 USM commits, 9 MSU commits.

Marcello just released an interview with Tony Conner. Two comments stuck out to me. "I've been trying to get all of the candy dozen players and a few that could have been dandy dozen to get together and go play for the same team" he also said playing time was important "I've been looking around and checking the rosters to see if teams have a safety or corner leaving, seeing if they have a spot for me".
Both of these obviously sound good for us considering most of the dandy dozen players are already committed to us. I found it interesting that he mentioned he was looking for a corner or safety spot to open up, as far as I'm aware OM isn't graduating any of either.

We took another slot guy but he is not Jameon. Jameon is shifty. Holloway guy is a burner. He is smaller, but faster. Not as quick but smarter.
