well apparently when you are Miss State and you get a good recruit, a used mustang is too flashy, so the geo might be right.

I mean if somebody showed up to my house with a 2004 Mustang and handed me the keys, I'd take it. Now if they were taking requests, 2004 Mustang would not be on my list

Tidbits on Rumph in Clarion-Ledger:

quote:

He hasn’t officially narrowed down his list but is expected to visit Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and Tennessee. Those are the schools primarily in the running to land the dynamic playmaker, according to Holmes coach Jeff Koonz.

“He likes Ole Miss and Mississippi State because their offenses are both headed in the type of direction he wants,” Koonz said. “Tennessee is in the running. Georgia is a factor because it’s close to home.”

Rumph, a South Carolina native, isn’t particularly interested in the home state Gamecocks, though. Koonz believes that is because he wants to go someplace where he “can really focus on his game and not have the hometown distractions.”

He’ll be looking for a school that provides some early playing time, throws the ball frequently and can prepare him for the next level.

The new CL recruiting guy said it would come down to OM, State, and UGA he thought.

ETA: If I were Bundy, I would have said that "my sources" said that. But I'm not a fricking idiot, so I gave the guy credit for doing his job
I follow him @jtalty or something like that

Those first 2 are definitely us. The 3rd one meh. We have proved we can do it at other positions, WR not so much.

Bundy will now tell his friends this new recruiting info and instead of saying he saw you post it here, he will tell them his sources told him that. You just became a Bundy source, congrats!

Nailed that one.

Rumph is a big need for this class... Morrow is the only player in that mold currently on the roster.

I would really love for us stop having to get Juco players to fill in needs

Jucos are fine in moderation. We run into 2000-2003 type of programs when we rely on them.

Some of our best players have been JUCO. Under Mullen, McPhee and Ballard come to mind.

I mean, I'm not hating on juco players or anything and we have made some excellent pickups with juco, but I just don't like that we need them to fill certain spots.

I don't think you will think he is smart in the end if that's the case...
