Four turnovers in the first half is troubling. We have got to maintain control of the ball. This team isn't good enough to survive that against SEC opponents.

Terry Wilson is going to be a good QB, his athleticism is obvious, his decision making skills are a concern.

The defense overall played well. Gunner Hoak, almost threw an INT in his drive, but then made good throws including his TD pass.

I'm going to give them a C overall, with a C- to the offense, and a B to the defense.

As I have said, next week will be key to the season. It's an average Florida team, and a great opportunity to end the most embarrassing streak in the history of team sports.

What say you?

@ Florida
Gators just hung over half a hundy on their opening lamb
Mullen had UK's number at State

While I hope for the best I am not betting the farm on a win in the Swamp

That said, I can see 8 potential wins on the schedule and that should get UK to a decent bowl game. More troubling is the upgraded stadium struggling to fill a smaller venue. If UK gets to 6 to 8 wins a year going forward with a few shots at 10 wins or more and nobody is showing up, what happens next?

UK should have some fans down there tho and if they do win, will they storm the field? If so, who pays the SEC fine, UF or UK?

We might be having that problem at Arkansas this year. We've spent a ton of money enhancing and expanding the stadium... and we've been having troubles filling it up for years now. It is entirely possible for schools like Kentucky and Arkansas to actually have a fairly decent sized crowd and their stadiums to still look halfway empty, particularly if the camera happens to linger on certain sections of the crowd.

Snell continues to impress. Considering he spent the morning in the hospital getting an IV he was very good, as was Rose. That is quite a backfield for Kentucky. If the Wildcats can hit some deep passes when teams start loading the box y'all could put up a lot of points this year.

8 wins does not look unreasonable for Kentucky this year.

I think Stoops is a good coach...even if he did a stint as an asst at FSU

I watched some of the game with CMU and was impressed some with their defense, their offense was warm dog poop. From what little I saw...it appeared that the CMU defense got tired after being out on the field too much.

As this Saturday....well..not to be the bearer of bad news but we are vastly improved on offense...and it wasn't because of the competition level either..Franks threw some dimes in the end zone with tight coverage. He had 5 TDs in the first half and Mullen called off the dawgs...er Gators and we subbed a lot after it was 38-0.

As usual, you guys normally fight us tough..I really liked Stephen Johnson and he will be missed. Good luck after this Saturday and please take out some of east brethren for us

QB play has to get better. Kentucky won't be able to run for 300 against Florida, Georgia, or USCe. You averaged 185 yards rushing against the SEC last year because you averaged 185 yards passing.

If you read my posts, I'm not that sold on him, and it's been 6 freaking years. To me, he either gets 8 wins or it's time to move on.

Our defense is SEC quality, finally.

I think the game Saturday will be a good one. We need to not turn the ball over, and have better QB play, but I think our defense will keep Florida from scoring too many. Just not sure if we can score much ourselves.
Will have to wait and see. Should be a dogfight for sure.

The problem with stadium "upgrades" even when decreasing seating, is that it costs more, takes more time, the weather is still a factor, and it's just more convenient to watch from home.

I really don't see that trend changing for any one regardless of who you are.

Yep. I was impressed with Wilson's speed, but several of his throws were either picked or close to picked, or just poorly thrown. Against any SEC defense, he would have had 2 more turnovers.

For UK to win in the swamp, they have got to keep control of the ball, move down the field slowly and come away with points.

Bigger problem is repeating and not taking former seating into consideration.

If you have been sitting next to the same folks for years and they split you all up, how does that help attendance?

Sort of my point. Decisions are not made with regard to the fan paying the price. It's all dictated by corporate sponsors and people paying additional fees just to sit in the same chair.

I'm amazed attendance at games isn't 50-75% of capacity across the entire nation.

I don't see us winning Saturday. The first game was important to get everyone ready for this one.
Might be close but we will likely faulter.
Still I don't think we should get rid of stoops. Dude hasn't done bad looking from where he started. Now if he goes 4-8 or something that's different

I was encouraged by what I saw from the defense. I thought Kash Daniels would be to slow for the MLB Slot and he may be against elite Tight Ends in coverage but he had a great game.

Of course the blaring concern is the QB play which was sub par by both. I think Wilson has the tools to make some elite plays like the sacks he avoided and he showed his speed on a qb run. Wilson just has to get the experience, learn to read a defense faster and not stare down his wideouts. Gunnar had a great series before the half but everything in the second half was high and floaty. So I say we just keep playing them both until someone figures it out.

O-line missed several assignments as well so we gotta work on that.

Preseason I thought we'd win 8 maybe 9.. I might step that down after the first game but its all dependent on how fast the players improve.

At least Runningback is not a concern.
